Is there anyway/anywhere/anyplace to retrieve original default settings for cars after tuning them (apart from being sad and writing them all down with a felt tip pen on hundreads of yellow post-its before you start).

If I start messing around too much and don't like what i've done to tune my chosen drive, i'd like to go back to the drawing board and start again...

The way I do this is to save the game just before I start experimenting on a car. If I don't like the way it's going and I want to start from the original settings, I can just reload the game from where I saved it. :D

If this is not an option for you at this point, here's another idea.💡
Save your game. Go buy the car from the dealership. Write down the original settings. Reload your saved game. ;)

Granted, this only works on cars that you can buy, but it's what I came up with.:2cents:

Yes, there should definitely be a "Revert To Default" button on the settings screen. It's way too easy to screw up if you don't know what you're doing.

One thing you can do is "Save Settings" in stock condition, then reload those. However, of course, that doesn't work if you've already tinkered.

The other way that I've heard of doing it (never tested first hand) was that unistalling a part, and reinstalling it will reset the settings. Such as Suspension, transmission...

Worth a try.

I agree with Neon_Duke, there should be a "revert to default" button.

Other than saving the settings, if it's a car that can be purchased, just get a new one, check the savings (or even save just the settings) but don't save the game.

If you have more than one memory card, same thing.

If it can't be purchased, is difficult to win, you have no card and are pretty much lost, you could always just ask if someone here to provide the settings.

Der Alta is correct.

If you're experiementing with settings and come up with a combination that you want to get rid of but can't remember the original settings, then removing and replacing the part in question will bring back the default settings.

Certain, non-adjustable, tuning operations cannot be undone however. These 'one shot' deals are such things as Weight Reductions, Port Polish and Engine Balancing.

why the heck didn't pd include a default button?!
i never noticed that before....

guess i'm just too good a tuner....
yeah, right.

NOTE: Sorry neon_duke and Der Alta... there is no "default" button for the settings. ;) Obviously, you can save your settings, but other than scribblies, that is the only way to keep ALL of the default settings... I learned all of that the hard way after messing up my first 787B. :o I was just lucky that another one was in store for me...

And Dogfish- Settings don't take up a lot of memory at all. Don't ever be afraid to save your settings. ;)
