WHO HAS THE BEST SETTINGS?

This is the question, that I want to get closer to. There are so many who claime fame to being the best tuner. I want to see who can tune, and what they can do. So I have a idea for a little comp. Its goal is to get the best settings for the cars in GT4.

Here is how the first trial test will work. (and if I miss anything, or if you have any coments please, dont be shy, fill me in) I want to compile 5 diferent sets of settings, and have as many people as posible do 5 runs with each set (in mixed order), and I will do an average with the results.

How to be a Tuner? Just Post your best settings for the vehicle in question. (First 5 posted are used)

How to become a tester? Just grab the posted settings (All 5 are required) and run them in the race in question, and post your best times with each setting, and we will compile results and do an average.

So for the First Test, the Famous Ford GT is the Guinie Pig & the track is Midfeild Speedway.

Now for authenticity, I want to use some screen shots (or simply digital photo's) of the event time's, they are not a prerequisit for the first trial, but everybody would apreciate them.

Also this Comp will generate a socond comp within the comp, Who can get the Fastest time with the Ford GT in Midfeild Speedway?

Good luck and start posting....

bumbpity bump 4 some people with setting for the Ford GT, unless no one can tune it, everybody just talks like the got it all set up right, but its all BS!!

i agree settings are subjective to each person's driving styles. but fore sure Iwouldlike to test some settings out to see which handles the best, saves me the time on fine tuning :sly:

What about using B-spec mode? No end user preference, the AI should be consistant across all versions. B-Spec points might come into play, but you might be able to edit those to a certain level via game shark.

Sounds like you want someone to do your work for you. What settings are you using ?

Mine are on Post #4

I want to spark a little competition, There are alot of settings submited, but weather or not they have a good impact is subjective, I want to see if there is a general set up's that works, Not just for the Ford GT, but for more cars, and at the same time help the lamen who cant Tune at all.

how do i edit the downforce on my ford gt

Add a wing, they are not just "rice" they work, and a rear spoiler for some reason allows you to also add downforce to the front.

I fully upgraded my '05 GT to your settings and tested it.

The car has major issues hooking up, it can't reach decent speed even in a straight line with the high TCS and your camber/toe settings. On the turn in it tends to oversteer and lose major speed through the corners.

I did faster lap times using the 05' GT STOCK with super soft tires and driving assists off than I did using full upgrades and your tuning settings.

At midfield, running a bit conservatively, I lap around 1'10''.

Not too sound like i don't know what i'm talking about but its impossible to have a best setting for one car becuase of the millions of people that play this game have different ways of tuning their cars to win. some can drift around a course and get a great time while others like me follow a racing line so therefore the car is set to follow a tight or loose line depending on the track. So i'm sorry to say that your competition isn't going to work and if your going to have one do it on whos the better racer not the better tuner

Try the updated set and I get much better times with them then stock (its all about being able to CONTROL the power)

I found that using your settings / fully upgraded actually lowered the top speed of the car on the midfield straight. With the assists and the camber/toe settings the car will not hook up at all.

In stock form, it reaches a higher speed, with no upgrades at all.

Dude! The setting isnt to get a high top speed Its to get best handling in the turns, and high speeds in them.

I run 7:44 with my 02 Protege in Nubugering, its top speed is like a buck 60, BUT it has great handeling to reach high track times! If all tracks were a straight line the Hiest top speed would matter.

Run you car stock on a track other then the oval test corse and compaire your track times!

THATS WHAT COUNTS!

On another note.....The Mclauren F1 GTR ROCKS!!

I was running it on midfield, the track that YOU suggested. It has a long straightaway, your setup was losing time through that area, and I figured you might want to consider the time lost.

I've never driven this car on any oval track.

First off I didnt sugest Midfeild (but its a great track for the settings none the less) It was Seattle I sugested, and my previous statement still stands IT DONT MATTER IF YOU DONT REACH THE SAME TOP SPEED IN THE MIDFEILD STRAIGHT, WHAT MATTERS IS THAT YOU FINISH THE TRACK IN LESS OVER ALL TIME!!!!!!

And NO SETTINGS will comp for simple skill & Talent

Its obvious to increase your speeds in the turns you have to suffer a little off the top end, but holding faster speeds in the turns will win races and give you a beter track time....! I didnt post theses settings to have a high top speed (if you want more speed in that straight drop your gearing to Auto 16, that should give you more speed in that straight)

N-E-WayZ I geuss I will have to say what should go without saying. EVERYBODY is diferent use the settings as a starting point if your having trouble tuning the Ford GT and if there are areas where you can improve them twords your driving style GO FOR IT! I got a 1:23 with My setting on Seattle Forward, and I wasnt running to get my best track time just to clock setting variations. I even rubed the wall coming out of turn 6 & used oly half my Nos. Im sure I can drop to arount 1:19 or below. (Im 38% with no indurence races and have other things to do, so I will spend more time on it later.)

EnJOY The new set up As always I will also work on her for other events (1/4 Mile & tOP sPEED TRACK)

Hmmm had no clue there were indurence races in GT4. what section is that in? american races? besides that no one really cares about your lame thread because there is no BEST TUNER. Best driver is what your looking for. and you won't find one since your not the best SPELLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not that it matters cause this dude was banned but obviously he did very specifically refer to Midfield. When you can't even keep your own posts straight and your mouthy you deserve to be banned.

Yea i've put up with people like this on many forums and i find it annoying that they have to know everything and be the best when they probably can't spell gran turismo or even play it

What you fail to see is that I was refering to Seatle as the track I used to tune the GT, and Midfeild as the playing ground for the comp.

MY settings for the GT are used and liked by many, if you dont like em GOOD FOR YOU.

And if you want to compare track times to see who is faster, I got a digital camera and up for it any time, if you think I cant play (thats for the bolth of you Velocity & [Skyline]grind)

If you think Im mouthy thats your Problem, I was trying to start a friendly comp, BUT your not interested, (because you probably cant tune, and are scared to post what your settings are because everybody will think they SUCK! But not for you because they are subjective) why not go to another thread? Jack A$$!!

Alright you know what i'm realy starting to get irratated with you. For starters go back to fourth grade and learn how to spell "both" then after thats all done get this through your thick head......THIS WHOLE IDEA IS DUMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT IS A BAD WAY OF SHOWING TALENT WHICH IS IN RACING NOT TUNING. Of course that doesn't make sense to you since u can't spell a four letter word. And i'm so hurt by the jackass comment. U can say that through a computer so i guess that makes u a real man.
