For those of you who opted to do the 24 hour of Nur in B-Spec, and won the Formula GT, I have some settings that are good with the car.

Because I haven't got my S-Liscence yet, I am also B-spec'n my way through the Extreme event Formula Gran Turismo portion. Here are the settings that I use on my car, and allow my AI driver to go 1-2 sec. faster than GT AI.

Brakes F7 R16

Spring Rate 17.4/17.5
Ride Height 45/45
Shock Absorber N/A
Bound 6/6
Rebound 8/8
Camber 2/1
Toe 0/-2.................I also found that -6 worked on the rear, but wears your tires too much

Downforce Default
Gears Default

I set the pace to 4(Fast) and on Overtake. You start out in last, but on lap 2 you start to gain 2 sec/lap. All the cars pit on same lap. The only tough one was Nur because the GT AI drivers would wreck on one of the straights and for some reason my driver would drive right into them. I won Nur on the last corner. Phew.

Question? Is there anybody else who hates it when you are on B-Spec and your AI driver drafts someone and instead of pulling out to pass, they run right into the back of the other car, and then pull out to pass?

You don't mention downforce or gearing, I am assuming you are leaving these at default settings. I am using similar settings, though I normally run 1 degree of toe out in the front (gives better turn-in response), and one degree of toe in at the rear. On tracks where high speed cornering stability is needed, I change the rear toe to 2 degrees in (as you have it).

For the series, I am qualifying for every race, whether I drive it in A Spec or B Spec. I've been finding that I can run 5 or more seconds faster per lap than the AI on many tracks. However, I am now running at Circuit de la Sarthe, and I am a bit puzzled as to how I should set the car up. You spend a great deal of time at or near top speed here, so I am tempted to decrease my downforce a bit to gain a little bit of top end. But then there are those high-speed esses, and I know I am not going fast enough there. I am off the pace by about 2-3 seconds from the pole position, after being up as much as 2 seconds before I reach the esses.

Hmmm....

thank you SO much! b-specing f1 championship right now, on 4th race and having trouble because not enough corners :-p
but the 1st three were easy-peasy...
can't wait for the c9 and my $4.5million in total prize money!

Ride height 45 is too low for a bumpy track like the Nordschleife. The higher the better for Le Mans and Nürburgring.

Do not leave the ride height at 45. Slamming does not work for Formula cars. I set it to 50/50 to give the suspension some travel and allow it to work.

There's really no reason to leave the rear toe at -6. The car has plenty of power to come around, and good downforce to stick and stabilize the rear.

I use the tranny glitch to set all my transmissions...it works well on the Formula car. Essentially, the glitch close couples the gears and uses the final ratio to set top speed.

Set Final all the way to the right
Set Autoset all the way to the left
Set Final back to the left so that the final gear is where you want it...leave a bit for drafting opportunities.

At some tracks, it's ok to back of the rear downforce a bit. You can significantly increase top speed, as well as reduce rear tire wear.

Very close gear ratios in seconds.

(It's better known as the "tranny trick". Some say you should slide the Autoset full right to 25 before sliding it full left to 1, but that was done to clear some GT3 strangeness on a few cars, I believe.)

Can someone Please explain the tranny trick to me.
First time player of what i know believe to be one of the best series of games ever (why i didn't play them before is beyond me).
Everyone mentions the tranny trick but not how to do it, Please help.

here ya go savill9, it just changes the gear ratios for faster shifting, you don't notice it a whole lot on the track, but take it to the drag strip to see, I took 4 thenths off of my time with this trick, works well.

does this work for automatics also?
