Monaco- Nouvelle Chicane (1st turn after the tunnel). Here is a drawing. My car is the thin line to the right. My "friend" is the thick line to the left. After exiting the tunnel I stay right and hit my brake mark to prepare for the chicane. My buddy, who was following behind, moves far inside(almost to the left rail) and decides to brake late (way too late in my opinion-as evidenced by many arguments over him t-boning me in turns). He nails me. He says "Oh well nobody has the right of way." I say there is a racing line, and with the line he took he is at fault. Who's right?

It matters if you get pounded into the rail while the other guy goes on to win.

This chicane is very poorly simulated in the game. In real life, the best line is the one you take, but in the game, the best line is the one your friend takes. I've tried staying to the right, but I've never been able to make it work. The problem is that PD made that little shortchute too short, so the chicane is far shallower than in real life. And your friend is right; there is no such thing as right of way in racing. All passes are made off-line. Even if your opponent makes an idiotic banzai move, it is your responsibility not to hit them. However, if your friend is t-boning you consistently, he is retarded. You should smack him, but don't come whining to us.
 
now i can see the picture...does it really ****ing matter that much? i slammed my mate into the wall at the end of mulsanne at lá sarthe and we just laughed our asses off. its just a facking game

First, I screwed up trying to post the picture. Second, nobody is crying. What is your problem. If it's just a game then what the hell are you doing joining a website and replying to posts? Many, many posts. Enough to make you a Senior Member. Who's taking it seriously?

It's a driving/racing simulator for men who want the closest thing to racing, not little boys who drive Civics. You want to come out and blast me for no reason. I promise you I can break you down and reveal the pathetic heap of human misery that you are.


Why can't I just get a friggin answer like kylehnat gave.

Get over the 6 posts. It happens when you are new to something.

Then why didn't you use the Edit button? That's what it's there for. And the Preview button. It's not easy for us to delete that many threads, and there's no reason you should have to make a new thread just because of a coding error.

I learned how to do it the hard way. Now I know. I hope you are not also one of these bitter guys just waiting to jump on someone for not knowing the rules, or how to navigate a message board. Remember mistakes you have made? As you can see this is my 2nd or 3rd post. First with a pic. I don't belong to any message boards or chatrooms.

The correct line is staying to the right.

The correct line to any track is the fastest one. Try it out yourself and see if your laptimes are faster or not.

the F1 rulebook would say jack **** about it. this isnt F1 2005 either, its GT4. if it really matters, neither of you were in the wrong. what may be the wrong line to you might be perfectly acceptable to some. now quit being a sissy and just drive
 
i'd say fair game... the game is what it is, it will never be 'what the f1 rulebook says'.... next time, brake even earlier so your buddy misjudge and he slams himself into the wall. Heard about game theory?

I wasn't going to say anything, but then you started to get croaky with everybody. (Although Chinko, you're not exactly helping matters either.)

And no, I'm not "one of these bitter guys" – I'll gladly help people, especially people who are new to GTP, if they don't get so hot-headed with everyone. When one of your first posts is a middle finger though, don't count on the staff to be terribly impressed.
