Yeah. They go together pretty well, but just bare with me a moment.

It's ironic that people from the 60s and 70s complain that modern music has "too much sex and drugs" in it. I mean, have you ever listened to a Motley Crue song? Or ANY "Warrant" song? I mean, the content of music hasn't changed. And if you don't like that stuff, there's plenty of non-sexual music out there as well. In fact, most of the bands (except Warrant) that sang the sex and drug filled songs, sang some pretty clean ones, as well.

And it wasn't just the boys getting into sexual song scene. Pat Benitar (Hit Me With Your Best Shot...Listen to it.), Berlin ("Sex (I'm A..."), Bananarama ("Venus"), The Cordettes ("Lollipop") and Joan Jett all had their sexy songs. And there were others, as well.

You have a very solid argument and I completely agree with you. One of reasons that these people make remarks like this is because it's an attempt to belittle modern music era. Thinking that music these days can't hold a candle to the big artist of the 60's and 70's. Sex is defiantly more popular in music these days then it was in the past decades but all these bands are influenced by those of the 80's and 70's. Sex sells and that's all that a lot of these so called artist care about.
