Sex and Obesity

Okay, so TM's thread reminded me that I have a burning psychological question of my own.

Assume for the sake of this question that you are not in a relationship or tied down in any way; and that you are acting independent of any moral or religious values you believe in.

Let's say you have a really obese and unattractive female friend. She has an absolutely amazing personality - and a beautiful voice. You would desire to be with her for the rest of your life, if only she was physically attractive.

Now let's say by a horrible twist of fate that you lose your eyesight AND your sense of touch. However, you still have your same sex drive.

I would assume that sex with ANYBODY would now be awkward... because of your inability to feel what you are doing and where you are, etc. But despite not being able to feel it, you still want it just as bad as before (for the sake of this question).

Would you consider haxing sex with the fat lady now?

I realize that many people do not care about physical attributes when they fall in love. I know that for me, though... obesity is the single biggest turn-off for me. I probably still wouldn't want to be sexually active with the woman despite no logical reason to be grossed out.

How fat are we talking here? Because there is a line where it goes from, "OK, this won't be so bad--it'll almost be like I'm riding on the Caspian Sea or something" to, "Holy Batman, this is some scary stuff and I think I'm going to have nightmares (and a crushed pelvis) for a very long time."

I like to call this line the Rosie O'Donnell Fold.

OK, this thread is not getting closed out of hand... BUT I will warn everybody right now to keep this discussion on a mature level, or it will get recycled faster than a pop bottle at an REM concert.

Nothing worse than Klos has already put above. I mean it.

Let's say 300 lbs. Assume you won't be crushed.

I tried posting it in a mature tone, let's hope all the replies are too.

Of course, fat ladies need love too...They just have to pay more...Giggidy Giggidy

What are we talking about as far as touch is concerned - are we talking no sense of feeling all over or just finger tips?

If it's all over then i guess no matter what your hormones want - you'll get little pleasure from the act anyway.

If you have no sense of touch, then you wouldn't be able to feel anything while having sex. It would be pointless.

Yeah. If you didn't feel any pleasure from sex there wouldn't really be any point in doing it, but I must follow the question, so...

I have no idea what I would do. I've never even been in a sexual situation, so I have no clue, but I guess if you and the girl are close friends, she digs you, and you like to see her happy, you might as well do it. You'll be indifferent, but she would love it because you wouldn't need to take a "man break". I'd think seeing her enjoying the whole deal would be reason enough to do it, even though you don't get the same rush--or any rush--that she does.

Just buy her a rabbit instead :sly:

Well even if you didn't have sight and sense of touch you would still have your mind and memory. She will always be fat in your head, even if she lost the weight you would be none the wiser.
So i say no, if i didnt find her physically attractive when i could see and feel im guessing i still wouldn't be attracted to her physically without sight or sense of touch because her large image will always be in my head.

Weird question man.....

And if she is as large as you say she is, and you still had your sense of smell....... :yuck:

What exactly is the point of Sex if you can't feel any thing?

With that in mind, I'd do it with the most "fit to be a mother" woman since your only reason for sex is reproduction (since your sense of "feeling" is gone).

God I pity the man who goes crazy for sex but can't feel anything.
It'd be like not being able to taste food but still being hungry.

Granted that having no sense of feeling will detract from the experience to a large degree... but if I suddenly found myself blind and unable to feel... I'd still want to have sex. Not all of sex is about physical pleasure.

lol @ DQ

Remember that when one sense is lost, the others gain in strength... and the sense of sound is very powerful when making love. Reaching climax would be highly unexciting without the auditory aspect.

If you can't feel you will not be stimulated properly.

Not all of sex is about physical pleasure.
Besides having childeren which is the obvious other reason, what other reasons are there. The ony other one if it's not to please yourself it's to please the person your with. If you couldn't feel anything ther's no reason other than thoes last two reasons that I can think of why you might want sex. And if your not attracted to the person your with I can't see either of thoes reasons being valid. At least personal pleasure is a reason to have sex with someone for the sake of it but you've taken that option away, so no I wouldn't sleep with her.

Let's assume that I lost all physical feeling in my body apart my crotch area. I'm not one to have sex with an obese woman (simply because it does not do anything for me.)

If I knew that person well I wouldn't be able to have sex with her simply because I would have a good image in my mind of what she looks like. I just simply wouldn't be able to do it. Everyone needs something to get them going.

If you had no feeling in your body then there would be no erection full stop.

For some reason using the word erection & crotch in a GTP post just seems wrong

Well, it's emotional, too. Sex is the most intimate form of being close with someone... you are naked, with all of your imperfections. And well you can't see or feel hers anymore, but she can still see yours.

And yes another big reason is to know you are pleasing someone else.

Yeah but if your not attracted to that person then why are you going to feel the need to please her. You wern't attracted to her before so you arn't going to be now. Since you can't feel anything so there's no physical need for you to be satisfied on that level. All that reasoning is moot anyway, as has been said, you need feeling to have sex, with no feeling what do you think would happen to your stimulation?

Even if your brain couldn't interpret happiness from physical stimulation, I'm sure the physical effect of an erection would still happen.

Good point. But I think you are reading a bit too far into this. All I want to know is if it is physical determinants that cause a person not to have sex with an obese person, or if it is mental too. When the physical determinants are 'removed' from being felt, then apparently from this thread, people would still abstain from having sex with the girl. I like how Slick rick put it.

Some of you are getting caught up in the semantics of the issue. Let's stick to what's important here--the fat. The rolly, polly fatty tissue that surrounds this woman.

As another question, I vote on her having a sister who is infinitely more beautiful, but has AIDS. And she smells like a Tokyo dumpster.

And to make it more interesting, if you got busy with the sister there would be a 75% chance of getting AIDS, but the other 25 percent of the time your blindness and inability to feel would be cured.

Now, would you do it? Assuming no treatment for AIDS and no possible cure. You have 3 years to live, and they aren't making Philadelphia II: Back and Disorderly about you.

Well that's a choice and a half, you can take a chance between catching aids and dieing in three years or being cured for life or living the rest of your life blind and with no physical feelings. I'd take the chance I'd be cured, if I caught aids I would particularly be looking forwards to another 60 years blind and without physical feeling.

Interesting, Klos.

Why only three years to live, though? You can prolong it for a looooong time if you have the money and if you catch it soon enough.

I don't think I would be able to, I'll admit, obesity is a turn off for me.

Just the fact I know she's obese would drive me away. Friends? yes. Sex, no.

Unless I was paid.. A HUGE sum of money..

And listen to all that gut smashing into my ribs? Hell no.

I couldn't do it. Ever. I'm just shallow like that. No fat girls for me. Yikes.

I'd much rather be cold and alone. I'd me much more satisfied with myself than some girl who outweighs me. My whole self respect would be gone if I did an obese girl. I've got standards, blind or not.

What if you're actually with a big fatty and realize it was just a fold?
