Share Your First Experience Driving The X1

I never got to drive the X1. I've only driven the X2010.

Yes, I know they're the same car, but it got renamed. There is no such thing as the X1 any longer and hasn't been for some time now. Even people who had the X1 back before it got renamed still have it renamed in their garages and there's nothing they can do to stop it.

I will not rest until people stop calling it the X1. This is becoming one of my pet peeves, much like people using the phrase "could care less" when they really need to be saying "couldn't care less" and people calling the Formula GT a Formula One car when it's not an F1 car.

I don't know what to say of it except that I felt like I was on meth or something when driving it. When I viewed a replay, it looked like I was watching a video that was accelerated two or three times.

Couldn't care less.

Oh and thanks, X2010 actually looks nicer as a thread title. Sweet!

Oh sorry. I see this thread is for people who didn't actually do anything to earn the X2010. Later

Actually, I was one level away to getting my free one from B-spec. Then I saw a thread in the marketplace forum, I'll give it a try trading people here. Keep in mind I really lost that Furai because I dont do any duplicating.

Tried it on Tokyo R246 (yeah, just to be sure i won't "eat the ground" ) 5 laps vs LM cars ( i think it was Gran Turismo All Stars event). Lapped R92CP and the other ones on lap 4... thought "WTF was that".

You know, i think X1 kinda ruined GT5. "Duping, bday glitch, X1" those things i'll remember about GT5 after many years, not sure about the rest.

My first time driving it, I was monza doing the vettel challange, waiting for the ghost to go. I leave, ram into the pit wall, get disqualified.:ouch:

Same as me then , mash the throttle and hit the Pit Wall , Disqualified :dunce:

I first got to drive the x2010 like 30 minutes ago after i finally achieved aspec level 30 (i was resisting endurance races the most i could but finally i gave up and did the indy 500 miles).
As soon as the Vettel Challenge got unlocked i jumped into the x2010 at the nurburgring track. TRIED to do a few laps and gave up after getting annoyed by the time it reloads after dsq. Then I tried the monza and got annoyed again

But what I think of the machine itself is that its astonishingly fast. I mean I need to really train my mind to make it x2010-quick-resistant  Sometimes I couldnt move my hands fast enough on the ascari chicane in example.

I love the car though and Im gonna practise driving it to the most of its capabilities

i loved it then after failing to get any trophy in any race from vettels challenge and i tryd a lot i just cant do it so i felt mizrable and dicided not to try for further moralic depresions end of story click.....

My first encounter with the X1 was about an hour ago as I've just unlocked the Vettle challenges. Went to the Nurburgring GP, coming out of the pits, my jaw hit the floor at how insane this car is. Got round the first and second corners, then completely miss-judged the third. BANG! Straight into the wall :P

Restarted and managed to complete the 2 laps, very chuffed with myself, in 2:31.xxx, still miles off.

So I tried again and now I can't even complete one lap let alone two.

I used the DS3, so I think I'll just wait until my G27 arrives and try again then.

My first time was at Monza during the challenge. After leaving the pit, I was looking at the cockpit and saying "Wow, that's cool". 5 seconds later, I hit the barrier head on and got DQ because I didn't pay attention to the track

I did the Monza track first. I'm using the DS3. For the first 20 tries, I slammed into the barriers at the first chicane.

After I finally completed one lap after about 50 tries, I was happy, until I slammed into those same barriers again.

last week i reached level 30 and immediately did the vettel challenge.

My only expireince of the x2010 is the hour i spent getting bronze on nurb, gold on monza and silver on suzuka.

Cant see me going back to it because to be honest i hate driving the thing, i just didnt find it fun plus it was sending my DFGT crazy!!!!

Only thing that may drag me back is the facr thats theres stilll 2.6 million XP available.

P.S i read about many people finding suzuka the hardest challenge but for me it was the nurburgring, the first 4 corners are murder!!!! On my third run at suzuka i got the silver but it took me about 10 go's to get the bronze on nurburgring

Nice thread.
My first was at the Spec event, I didnt know Suzuka or Nurburg well enough to do anything worth while and I knew it so I went with Monza for my first try. It took 5 tries just for me to get out of the pits, and when I finally did I had no idea where to brake for the first chicane, i smashed it, the wall and car. Laughed my arse off, and went back for more. I gave up after about an hour. I didnt want to restart over an over so I started looking for trades so I could run laps, crash or not, and keep going. It worked, the trade X1 gave me the practice I needed to earn my own.

Remember the episode of Top Gear where Hammond drove a Renault F1 car? And when he put his foot down he started shouting OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD?

Well, that. Then immediately driving into the wall at the pits on the Nurburgring. Then some giggling at the absurdity of what I'd just pushed forward a few feet.

+1 To you! 👍 Nicely said and spot on for the first experience with the X1.

I remember watching that episode, I had my eyes glued to the screen waiting for the moment he drove that F1 car.

Nice thread.

Thanks!

I should do what you did, practicing laps with a traded X1 in order to get used to the challenges, so I could earn myself one too.

Actually, I just had a trade for an X1, I'll get behind it and practice on it instead of restarting over and over again.

First experience....

And I quote "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

First experience was yesterday when I unlocked the Vettel challenge.

I love the FGT and the Ferrari F1 cars but this thing is beyond the realm of anything that resembles reality. It's arcade like fantasy(I know it is designed by PD and IS a fantasy/concept). It just gives more nitwits a way to destroy the online experience.

If someone is hosting a X1/X2010 ONLY server, then that's fine but morons that can't handle the car bring them into rooms and bash their way around a track. The online game would be much better without it.

First time I tried it out was in the challege...Damn that thing is quick. I know I'm leaving a lot of time on the track too; it's hard for me to comprehend how much grip the X2010 has and how fast I can go:tup:

I was lucky enough to have the car gifted to me and I must say, was completely shocked at how this car performs! I first tried it at Suzuka and it was impossible for me so I quit and tried it on Monza. I ran a lap time of 1:09 and I'll never forget how much giggling I was doing during that time trial. Ever since turn #5, when I over shot the turn, braking ultra early, I realized that it is a tough beast to tame. I then ran it at Circuit de la Sarthe with no chicanes and ran a 2:15. When on the straight, my DFGT was trembling like crazy with all the bumps at 280 MPH. And the car just makes you giggle, thats how amazing it is.

I knew some what to expect after reading some post here. That is it's basically a F1 car with super-glue grip. It like most of Gt5 physics were completely removed so you can go super fast around corners. I could easily brake very hard in the corners even with ABS off and smash the gas to the floor very early as TC were set to 20 (on the scale of 1-10).
I bronze Monza within a few tries then got bored and haven't try the the time trials since. This car feels like is belongs in Wipeout instead of GT5.

Just had my first experience with it through the Vettel Challenge. And just as I thought, I hate it. I'm not disliking it because it's hard, but just because it's unrealistic to me. I spent about 30 minutes on it and the best overall time I could get on the Nurb was a 2:21. So I have to find 13 seconds extra?!?! Heck with that. I guess I'll never get one of those.

Bronzed the event and then drove the Indy 500 with the prize car. Hated it and it's now exclusively used by bob. Getting too old to play reflex games like that. :)

Well let's see now..

My first encounter was right before christmas vacation. I got to level 30 and was able to get bronze on all the courses before i had to go on vacation. At first i smiled and laughed at how insane the car handled and the speed it had.
I used a weekend on getting bronze on the event. It seemed impossible at first. After the vacation was over i got back home and tried some more but gave up after 2 evenings trying to improve myself (getting closer to silver and gold) At some point I was able to get gold on Monza but i dont remember when but i remember giving up on the hole event and not driving it for many weeks untill just 1 or 2 weeks ago then I had read some hints and tips and i turned skid force recovery on, tcs off, abs 1 and unplugged my wheel so it had no feedback. After 10 min on nurburgring gp i was able to get silver and I now saw I had a chance to get gold but i know it was gonna be a fight so i wanted to try silver on suzuka so i had the silver x1 (to hell with x2010 name :) ). I had to try for 60 min on suzuka to get silver.

So my status now is silver, gold, silver and the hole event has become something I do when im really bored :) Cause bspec'ing dreamcar championship is what im mostly doing now and some online.

Another thing, the only thing i'm using my first x1 cars for is bspec, I tried it in aspec but I just dont like do playing in fast forward :) It's an awesome car but there are plenty other cars that will win for me no matter what event i play. The bspec lvl 35 x1 and silver x1 is just collecting dust.

So there you go :)

About the same as everyone else it seems. Head out of the pits, realize the thing is faster than the speed of light, crash, DQ, restart. Rinse and repeat.
I've finally managed to get a 2:29:xxx at Nurb. Using the DS3 with minimal success. Turning before the turn is taking some getting used to.

After I unlocked the X2010 challenges, I tried to do the Monza test but I crashed out of the pits about 10 times in a row. Then I inched the car out of the pits but I crashed at the first chicane another dozen or so times.

So I gave up and now I'm grinding Bob through to level 35.

The first time i do it was on time trial with my TC and ABS input to 1.
On straightline is okay. I slightly turn the car a bit and you know what happen.
On a cold tyre too.
High Speed Ring Track.

I get some grip on the car after a couple of restart.

Unlocked the event yesterday. And I love the car but can not keep it on the track the turn in on it is mental.
I've only managed to bronze Monza and that's only because I really know the track so I have to admit I'm going to get my hands on a duped one to practice at Nurb and Suzuka.
I really want to get gold on this so I can see myself really putting in some time on these circuits in this car. I reckon I'm going to have to turn down the FFB on my DFGT I'll end up getting RSI in my wrists if I don't. 👍 love it though!!
