Well my X-Port order has fallen through  It's status at the site is "Rejected" for no apparent reason at all, this makes me very mad as I only just found this out today, and was expecting it tomorrow :(

So if I manage to track down a SharkPort, where can I get updated software, as I have read that the software on the CD is very outdated.

Also, does anyone know of a good reliable site to order an NTSC SharkPort?

I have the outdated sharkport disc but I dont think you should worry about that unless you want different game saves and some other stuff (i think). The only reason why I got the Sharkport was to make hybrids, upload/download gamesaves/replays, and the such. The only upgrade I get is MK's when a new version is released...

Yeah, the only thing you really need to upgrade is MK's whenever he releases a new version. I usually just keep my version and dont upgrade untill a few versions later unless it has something really neat. I had v20 before I upgraded to v36 then v38...

Oh yeah? Right on. I have 38 as well, Heydu gave me a site that he links to when he announces a new version, but what do you use to keep informed of new versions? As I find Heydu's site hard to navigate.

Oh and good news, I found a site with a SharkPort and I ordered it :D GoCybeShop.ca, I chose overnight shipping, $15, but since I kinda want the thing like yesterday, I figured it was worth it :p I still can't believe there are no stores around here with it in stock

Yup the sharkport software u ordered should be fine as long as it is sharkport 2 software. If it happens to be SP1 software (U never know when U order on the net) it should still be ok as long as your PS2 will read the disc, then U will just need the upgraded PC software.

Where can I find that upgraded PC software? Interacts site is of course down now. And my PS2 is brand new, just got it for Christmas, it's the 39001 model.

As for keeping up with the latest version of MK's, I have added a link to my web site which I will keep updated with the latest version (currently V38) so U can always check there from time to time by clicking on the www with the little house next to it at the bottom of my posts.;)

Majarvis, once U find out what U've got, I can email U the PC software if U need it.

RX-7 Turbo II, a hybrid is a car made up of parts from other cars.

Awesome, thanks, it's going to be here on Monday they said, I have a Fed-Ex tracking number and everything this time  :p So I'll let you know :)

Maybe it's a stupid question, but... uuuhhh.... what's a hybrid???

A hybrid is a car you can make with parts from different cars. Like putting an F1 engine in a Viper with Corvette suspension. YOu can make wild ones that have 3000HP or mild ones with 500HP or around that.

Heydu, maybe you can explain better :D...

Are U talking about GTXR 5? That's not mine, it's being run by MR Grymm at GTF, I'm just helping promote it and doing the tech inspections. Don't know when it will start, but read thru the rules and start putting some cars together. Maybe even put a team together.:D

Not quite...

Xport: Full support, updated software, able to access current codes and saves

Sharkport: No longer supported, out dated software, not able to access current codes and saves

I think it's pretty obvious only a fool would get the Sharkport instead of the Xport :)

Do u think, since i have the NTSC version, my game freezes when i activate the Diablo GT Body code because of what version i have? Also for the 911(966)GT3...

Are you asking about using codes in the game? I cannot help you if you are :guilty:

If your using the Diablo body code without the Diablo color code, that is most likely causing your problem.

gothi, on the Xport vs Sharkport thing, what U say is true to some extent, but it is my understanding that the downloadable Xport software works with the Sharkport, which I would assume would allow U to get the latest code saves and such. Also, for those who use the codebreaker this feature is irrelevent, and so the Sharkport would work fine. I think FP was just saying that either one will work for hybriding an NTSC gamesave, and so he should probably get which ever one he can find.

Yes the US Xport PC software does work on the Sharkport disc, but...

Datel does not officially support the Sharkport, Interact sold you that product, Datel is under not obligation to offer any support for it. Now since Interact no longer exists as such, if you buy the Sharkport you are buying a product with no proper support.

Old Sharkport discs do not work on newer PS2's, I've already had to tell someone this week that they wasted their money by buying the Sharkport and they need to buy an Xport which will work on their PS2.

I really would advise getting an Xport over the Sharkport, not only will it be easier to find, you will get support for the product should you have any problems with it :)

well i meant the Diablo GT chassis, that's also a question i had, where are the body codes in ur link? I asked this question about a million times though.

The Diablo chassis should not freeze the game. Perhaps U made an error entering the code. Double check your code entry and try it again.

gothi, I don't disagree with what U said, and I was also not aware that the SP discs aren't working for the newest PS2s. Personally, I think both products(SP/XP) stink, but they are all we have. I wish they would perfect something like the Harderdrive2, which is more like the old dex drives. Then there is no need for the PS2 disc.
