Hey there, just wondering something. You know that plastic center hub thingy that the two USB cables connect into, the one with the plastic casing and logo on it. Well, I'm just wondering, does it do anything special other than just connect the two USB cables together? Does it make the PS2 read PC data, and vice-versa? Or is it just a normal USB hub that does nothing oher than connect those two cables?

The reason I'm asking this is because, if something ever happened to it, if it got broken or something, what would you do?

I would like to know if you could just run a male to male USB cable from the PS2 to your PC, and would it do the same thing?

Thanks :)

Don't Know for sure, but I have read U can just use a male to male. I supose if I ever broke mine, I'd try it and find out. I think maybe they put it in there so they had a place to put there logo!:D

...eager to hear results because i too have pondered this very same thing, and if your able to use a normal usb cable then iam excited and wondering about possibilies of copying this damn thing (sharkport), which cant be bought anywhere (it's "semi-hard" to find), and sell em :p
