 I should show you what my old 5770s look like after two years of use, you'd be changing your tune pretty quick!

If it's anything like what my aunt has her computer (my spare parts!) looking like... I'd prefer you spare me the heartache.

Mine was scary when I pulled my case apart earlier this year :p

Now I kind of want to find another 5770 as well for Crossfire, since they have to be cheap these days...

Back to 4.3GHz tonight - I was experiencing a couple of very minor niggles with my original 4.3 OC so I dropped back to stock+turbo (3.8 in most situations due to single-core turbo) for a while. Got bored with stock clocks so decided to go for a stab in the dark and use a less negative dynamic vcore adjustment; using -0.010v instead of my original -0.020v nets this result:

65-68C P95 load at 1.272v - this voltage is, funnily enough, the lowest I ever saw under load with -0.020 (that offset would result in 1.284 load 99% of the time). Only other difference is LLC set to high instead of turbo.

Might tinker a bit more this weekend and wring 4.5 out of the sucker.

^ No chance of the famous 5G then aye? (I guess heat would hit before instability would in your case).

The good news is from my somewhat limited time "testing" things last night, that this 4.3 is running perfect with no problems 👍

4.7 will literally be going for broke, because I likely wouldn't have a working chip at the end of it! 4.5 is as far as I'm willing to go, 4.3 is 59C gaming load and even that's hot enough to get the fan on my 212 running in "borderline loud" mode

Just need to work out what offset I'm going to need for 4.5!

Oh hey there.

Wondering what you're meant to be looking at? Well, yesterday this was how my desk was laid out...

Two Viewsonic VX2460h 24" 2ms 1920x1080 displays, replacing my old BenQ E2220HD 22" 5ms 1920x1080 unit 👍

Forgot my 670 only has one HDMI output so I have the secondary display running off the 3570K's IGP for now - I could grab a DisplayPort->HDMI adapter, but the integrated graphics will do secondary monitor duties just fine until I pick up a second 670 as I'm not going to be using the second monitor for games (at least initially). Straight out of the box the image quality was a bit pants, overly bright and quite washed out, but I've managed to get them looking quite a bit better already. Some more tweaking required, but they're doing the job so far - being able to keep Youtube etc open on the second monitor all the time is awesome. Just need to get IndieVolume set up so I can alternate Firefox/iTunes between my headset and speakers plugged into secondary display and it'll be perfect :)

Jesus Sharky just a few shortcuts on the desktop.
Oh and take the stickers of the bezels.

Looks good. 👍

Looks good! I need to get a dual monitor setup going again, frustrating to go back to 1. Think I'll grab a nice 22"-24" 1080p monitor when I'm back at school and use my POS Walmart TV as a secondary monitor/to watch cable TV (FWIW it's 1080p so that's nice).

Next week: replacing the 21.5" with a third 24, and adding a second 670 to help power them all :trouble:

Three 24"? Holy crap! I have two 24" with a 20" for working on other machines at work. But three?!?

Also, your room is quite yellow.

Looks fantastic. I tried a tri monitor BF3 setup at a computer store a little while ago (SLI 680's IIRC) and it was quite the thing. Some day I'll invest in a setup like that.

Hnnng... Must... Not... Google 24" monitor prices! I was thinking of replacing my 22"s (probably 21.5" actually) with 23" 1080ps, but I keep looking at the U2412M on my desk and wondering... Is £440 on two monitors a little too much? I normally conclude that yes, yes it is, especially as 1920x1200 is frowned upon by some games. Maybe what I'll do is get one snazzy IPS monitor for the middle and two cheaper but same size monitors on the outsides, but then you have the problem of colour consistency. But it's cheaper...

24" is a good size though, I like 24", but I don't find myself wishing I had more screen with my current ones. More pixels, yeah, but not more inches.

But I don't know, I should really hold on and see what the Rift is like. If I get one of them I'll probably have one 27" 1440p monitor instead.

No such thing as overkill in my book :D Working at a computer component wholesaler is horrible for self-control, I'll tell you that! Probably wouldn't have bought the two 24s to begin with otherwise and now that I have two I need a third to make it all even (physical size wise, the 21.5" is 1920x1080 like the 24s), as well as a second GTX 670 to deal with the dramatic increase in 3D grunt required. Fortunately(?) I'll be happy to deem my computer "complete" insofar as the amount of power I want it to have, what it can do etc; basically it means I won't be as compelled to buy stuff from work any more as I'll have everything I want. That's the plan anyway...

That's just the white balance on my phone

SLI 670's should be pretty capable for any non Crysis game for quite a while, and once you have 3 monitors you won't be compelled to get more. But I'm sure you'll find things to spend money on regardless.

 well I'm the same way. Just built my machine and now I want two IPS monitors, another HDD, an external drive for backups, all kinds of games to buy, a keyboard with MX Brown switches, the list goes on.

But I'm sure you'll find things to spend money on regardless.
Three 24" displays, two 670s, Samsung SSD, 3TB WD Black drive for my games, mechanical keyboard, gaming mouse, good headset, G27, joystick, X360 controller... what else is there to even buy?

Oh in a year you'll be switching your cards for two 870's or something :p

Guess you're right though, you've got pretty much everything you could need for a gaming PC. Then again, how often does what you "need" really come in to play when we're talking computer parts

Racing rig for the G27, liquid cooling, TrackIR, Buttkickers, accessory monitor... LED fans... A USB rocket launching turret...

How can you afford not to, though?!? :trouble:

 I don't have that much money to spend!

Well you could economise by building your own rig and TrackIR, it's not like you don't have options! The USB missile launcher is going to cost you, though. And the Buttkicker actually, I reckon that wouldn't be too hard to build... That's a summer project for me I think.
