Yes, this is very old news buddy. J Mays said himself that they dropped it because pretty much it was a design mistake. Check out that other latest Ford concept. I think it's called the GR1, I might be wrong though. That's aiming for production.

Why does he ALWAYS refer himself as J Mays? Is his first name really JENNIFER?

I heard Mr. Shelby had a big problem with this and he didn't want his name on it. I'm glad they arn't pursuing this.

Shelby liked the car, he didnt see at a good car to build from a buisness perspective, and neither did Ford especially sinc most of the Cobra fans didn't like it and that ruled out most of the potential sales.

Not that great looking of a car IMO..The Series I looks much better.......but......oh well...whatcha like ya like..

problem seems to be that ford is sticuk in a retro rut.
ford GT
ford Tbird
ford (new) mustang
and so on and so on.

they have mined thier history and now cant seem to come up with any design direction for their cars. the ford 500 looks like a warmed over crown vic. the freestar is little changed from the windstar. the fusion looks like a softer edged escpae. etc etc

ford neds a design direction. kinda like cadillacs theme. but one of thier own.

i think the biggest crticisms of this car was that it didnt go too far from the original.

i reckon the viper GTS was one of best design executions of a retro style (daytona coupe) without looking like a fudged photocopy.

i think the AC ace was beautiful.

my statements simply meant that it was clear that ford had just copied the cobra and not much else. big deal

the gt is different coz it was designed as a race car and as such is compromised in many ways, but was made to "fit." its something of an engineering marvel. this one wasnt.
