Shifting glitch

Ok it goes like this,im using my G27 on manual shift mode with clutch and every time I select a gear and put the clutch in I get an automatic upshift into a higher gear (for example if I shift into second I get an auto upshift into third).

I then checked my settings and it is in manual(MT) all aids off with steering wheel set as "controller number 1" as it always is under normal operation.

I quit the race,re-loaded it and tried shifting again.No dice,still did the same unrequested upshift.What's more when this happens the paddle shifters don't respond.

I then switched controllers around a few times before switching the steering back to "controller 1" and then everything was normal again.

Question is what triggers this phenomenon and how do I prevent it.Thanks.
 
That's odd. Never happened to me. Sounds like a glitch.

Returning back to the paddle shifters is a bit dodgy sometimes. Have to click them a few times before it responds, or I brake to a complete stop/reverse and then shift to paddles.

I won´t be of help for you really, cause didn´t experience that glitch. Using the G25. Nevertheless, maybe yours isn´t just a single case and someone else (specially with the G27) can confirm it. Knowing a few guys with the G27, but none of them really had this kind of matter, either.
 
You tried maybe another game with the 27? If it´s a hardware issue then get yourself a new one, considering it´s within guarantee period..
 
I haven't experienced this at all, my G27 seems to be working just fine.

Any of the cables loose?

Nope,GT5 is the only thing I play so far,used to play midnight club but no glitches there.

My G27 was fault free too till this and it works fine now which is weird..Nope cables are fine 👍
