Hey guys, made this account just to ask this question as Im really confused and ive done just about anything to make it work.

When in manual transmission, playing with a PS3 controller, gears change but they will go from lets say 1st to 3rd gear. I realized that holding the L2 or R2 will make the gears go from 1st to 6th right away so what happens is that the split second I hit R2 it automatically goes from 1st to 3rd or 3rd to 5th etc.

I dont get why its doing this and here is the funny thing, it only does it with official PS3 controllers.

Ive tested 3 different controllers, same thing. I then plugged in some ghetto wired controller (with horrible analog sticks, hence why i cant use it), and it works perfectly. The problem does not exist and holding the shifting button does not make the gears go from 1st to 6th.

Ive tried remapping the shifting buttons to other buttons, same thing.

I dont get whats going on. Anything like this ever happen to anyone?

Cheers.

Here is a video of whats going on. Not the best quality but just look at Button / Gears.

Also, just found out something else.

Tried two player split screen;
Player 1 gears are messed up on DS3 controller.
Players 2 gears are fine on ghetto controller.

Now, switched DS3 controller to Player 2 and ghetto controller to Player 1;
Both are fine, shifting fine.

As soon as I put DS3 controller to Player 1, it doesnt work. E-brake doesnt work as well.

1 press should be 1 gear change.

Looks like your DS3 is sending multiple signals (like some kind of auto-fire mod) for gear change. Never happened to me .

I'd say it is problem with DS3 (is it original or is it "original" > there are lot of cheap DS3 clones out there > only difference is sticker) but then you wrote it is the same with all 3 wireless controllers , but wired controller works ok. Maybe it is some kind of bluetooth connection problem.

Have you tried any other game , just to see if controllers are sending multiple press signals too in any other game .

PS: Got mine PS3 second hand and kid who sell it was COD fan ,so DS3 was pretty much not working/bad shape. It was sending random signals for random buttons> if I pressed controller around SONY logo it would send signals , like I'm pressing "o" or "L2" buttons... or it would disconnect itself. To make long story short , gOOgle revealed it is common problem with used DS3 (with time ,housing got little flexed and in consequence connection between motherboard and connector for button signals got loose ) , I've disassembled It and fix "broken" connection by putting some tape under connector to make it press it up to motherboard more. It works flawless since then.

I get what youre saying man, but just to clear up some things;

All DS3 controllers I have tested are real and mint working controllers that give me no other problems whatsoever in any other games.

This is only happening in Gran Turismo 6, and as I stated before;

When playing 2P split screen;

1P DS3 - Does not work
2P Ghetto - Works

Switched around;

1P Ghetto - Works
2P DS3 - Works

For some reason, DS3 on P1 is giving me problems.

Its really baffling me, because it makes no sense why it would be doing this.

Deleted game data and going to re-install again. I hope I dont lose save data...

If you flip the controller round and then look down and left from L2 you'll see a little hole, which is the reset button. See if pressing that helps. Also, if you set the button configuration back to default manually in game, try clicking the reset to default button, and do the same on wheel settings if you've played with them. I did when I only had a controller, and people have mentioned odd effects after doing that when they used a DS3.
