Great going, Shinya! Beating a former Formula 1 driver is certainly an accolade to be proud of, it's onwards and upwards from here.

Thanks to everyone for all of the support! It's been a rough year, not knowing whether or not I would be in a car again but, this victory definitely takes a lot of the weight off of my shoulders.

There isn't much I can say but thanks to everyone that has continued to support me. The team did a great job and gave me a great strategy and car to make the win possible. It's pretty special to get your first win at such a high level. But, on top of that I was able to do it as a spot entry as well as taking fastest, second fastest, third fastest, and 4th fastest lap of the race as well. Hopefully this will help me get a full time ride in something next season.

Auto GP 2014 Season Video Review

Nice, how does it compare to iracing? :p

The DTM modification as well as the Hockenhein ring were actually quite impressive. As you know, I'm usually less than impressed with rFactor but, this one actually felt believable. Great fun as well as the seat has slight movement and a super heavy brake pedal like in real life.

First bit if big news for the 2015 season!

I have made it into the final 24 contestants of a contest called RaceTo24, which is a contest to find the 3rd driver for one of Team SARD MORAND's Onroak Racing run Morgan SARD LMP2 machines in the 2015 and 83rd edition of the 24 Heures du Mans. The competition is going to be stiff with top GP2, GP3, and Formula 3 competitors to compete against but, I will have to put maximum effort, and then some, in order to realize a childhood and my main goal of competing in the most prestigious motor race in the world. Check out more information at www.RaceTo24.com

2nd bit of big news should be able to be released in a month or two.

Sounds good, I like the screen, I was thinking that kind of setup might be better than a triple screen setup since there's no breaks in the screen. Not sure about how much the sides are distorted though?

Triple projector setup, maybe?

Been wanting to let this news out for some time as it has been in the works since last fall and now confirmed for over a month! But, now it's Official that I will be racing in the Blancpain Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe Series with Vincenzo Sospiri Racing. Kei Cozzolino and I will be pairing up in the #16 car for the entire year, including the world final in Sebring. Kei has been absent from racing for 3 years, but he brings and incredible amount of experience to the table as he has raced Japanese F3 and Formula Nippon as a Toyota Factory driver in the past. Vincenzo Sospiri Racing is a brand new team to the racing world but, it uses all the same facilities and employees as Euronova racing. I'm extremely excited to get the season started at Vallelunga this Wednesday April 1st for 2 days of Official Testing!

Press Release - Cozzolino & Michimi confirmed for Super Trofeo

Well, now that the first weekend is done and dusted, I'll post a little bit about how the weekend went.

In Qualifying, my teammate put the car in P2 for Race 1 and I put the car P5 with my first ever set of almost new tires. In Race 1, my teammate got a great start and handed the car over to me in P2. Unfortunately he had felt a slow puncture quite early on, but we decided to carry on and hope that the tire lasted. A mistake by me in the pits gave us a drive through penalty, and a puncture a few laps after the pitstop ended our race early and we had to surrender to P21 after running for the overall victory. Race 2, I started 5th and got muscled around I'm the first corner and fell back to P8. After moving up to P6, we pitted and were able to move up to P3 overall after the pits and hold on to that until the end. P3 overall and Pro-AM class win!

GT racing was new to me, my teammate, and the entire team so, this result is very promising for the rest of the season as we gain more and more experience. Next race is in Silverstone.

Did any rubbing of elbows with the GT Academy drivers at the track for the Blancpain GT Series event that was also on the card? :)

Lamborghini Young Drivers Program Driver Announcement and Spa Francorchamps testing onboard

Press Release

Lamborghini Squadra Corse announces the official 2015 programs dedicated to youngsters

Sant’Agata Bolognese, 14 May 2015. Lamborghini Squadra Corse has announced three programs dedicated to young drivers who impress during the 2015 season.

The Squadra Corse Young Drivers Program is again confirmed for this year. Dedicated to drivers under 26 who are performing exceptionally in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, the selected drivers will take a role in Lamborghini Squadra Corse test sessions.

The GT3 Junior Program is launched this year, as the next step up from the Young Drivers Program. The goal is to select the most talented drivers, first involving them in the development process of the new Lamborghini Huracán GT3, and later in GT3 racing.

Following the success of these initiatives, from 2015 there will also be a Formula Junior Program, with the aim of supporting selected teams to scout the best talents in single-seater categories.

“Following the success of the 2014 Young Drivers Program that allowed us to select four drivers who this year are racing the two Huracán GT3s in the Blancpain Endurance Series, we decided to further invest in young talents. We thus created a GT3 Program for those more experienced drivers, and one in support of up and coming drivers in single-seater categories. Last but not least we offer these drivers a professional experience as instructors in Lamborghini Accademia and Esperienza driving courses,” stated Giorgio Sanna, Automobili Lamborghini Head of Motorsport.

The Young Drivers Program will include eight drivers this year. Among them once more is the current Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Europe PRO-AM champion Alberto Di Folco (19). Alongside him is the Italian Edoardo Liberati and the Swiss Patric Niederhauser, aged 22 and 23 respectively, who this year race as a pair in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Europe. The team is concluded with the undisputed ruler of the Monza Super Trofeo Europe, the Finn Patrick Kujala (18); the Russian Roman Mavlanov (20), the Japanese Shinya Michimi (21); the Australian Oliver Rae (24); and 21 year-old Briton Jake Rattenbury, this year racing in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North America.

The GT3 Junior Program enlists the 21 year-old Andrea Amici, 2013 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Europe PRO-AM winner, and other Italians Giacomo Barri (24), Alberto Cerqui (22) and Daniel Zampieri (24). Also participating are the Italian/Japanese Kei Cozzolino (27), the American Corey Lewis (20), the German Florian Spengler (27) and the Austrian Gerhard Tweraser (26). Milos Pavlovic and Edoardo Piscopo, 2014 winners of both the PRO Class of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Europe and of the World Final, will be the official test drivers.

Starting from 2015, the Young Drivers Program drivers as well as those involved in the GT3 Junior Program will be an integral part of Lamborghini driving courses. After having being involved in the development of the new Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo, they will be selected as instructors in Esperienza and Accademia events all over the world.

The brand new Formula Junior Program starts this year, with an overview by Vincenzo Sospiri Racing. The team is involved in this year’s Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo Europe, and in the Japanese F4 Championship where it lines up Takuro Shinohara (class ’94) and the Brazilian Nicolas Costa (class ’91).

This is a program that has its roots in single-seater racing but is designed to progress the most talented young drivers up to GT racing, under the Squadra Corse banner. Seven double rounds of the Japanese F4 Championship will run during the prestigious Japanese Super GT weekends.

The official test sessions where the Young Drivers Program and GT3 Junior Program drivers will be involved, are set for the 9-10 June and the 8-9 October in Vallelunga (Italy).

Starting from this year, a physical training activity for all drivers joining the Lamborghini Squadra Corse programs will be carried out in collaboration with Transatlantic Fitness, a European company that represents the benchmark for technical and sporting training. Selected specialists will attend all Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo race weekends to provide assistance to all drivers involved. Moreover, during the test sessions, specific individual training courses will be realized via TRX® (a training tool designed to increase muscle strength) and Rocktape® (a company specializing in solutions for muscular training both for sport and therapeutic-rehabilitative needs).
