Shoe67, could you make a video of a normal run with one of those LMP1 cars? I want to find out what racing lines am i missing because i only get around 3:35.000

This is all old data. I am still in the process of re-running all the cars. That data is several updates ago, so times, laps, and fuel usage is all different.

That's good. I'm currently paused at hour 2 in tsukuba in my c7 vette and i would like accurate info on the next duro.

Ps any real reason i can't use the x1? i use the over cockpit view and its not a hard car to handle. or is le mans a diff story?

I just find the X1 too boring to drive for 24h. You can crash 3 times a lap and still win by 100 laps. And if you run solid laps, you can run 2:10-2:15 per lap easy. If you do that it takes so much concentration, you just have no fun with it.

Ya, and to add onto shoe, when you do win by 100-150 laps, you dont feel a real sense of accomplishment.

I'm 2 hours into tsukuba and I'm only 3 laps ahead of the mines r34 in my c7 with racing meds. i pit every 50 laps.

The PP levels are pretty close I believe?

Yeah. I run 58-59 second average times. my Best lap is a 56.987

you woulnt believe how many times I've passed the stream Z so far

Ya, the viper race cars have been lapped by me at least 4-5 times only after lap 45 or so by me in an LM peugeot

That's because they are GT cars...that's about how it is in real life.

I searched the thread but couldn't find anything on adding some more turbo to a car. Anyone tried that? I'm thinking like Ford did in the 1960s, big engine high top speed and tip toe around the corners applying power gently each time you exit a corner.

I've run the shorter Endurance and am considering using the Bentley Speed 8 for Le Mans. However I'm simply not getting lap times of 3.30 without really pushing the car, and burning the tyres. So I thought I'd boost the turbo.

Comments welcome on the 'wisdom' and 'ethics' of this. I run TC1-3 and ABS 1 or 2, no other aids and can win the shorter races on this track with the stock Bentley fairly easily.

Use whatever car you feel comfortable with. The aids are fine, I'd even try using SRF if you need. Turbos are definitely something you can use. Remember, you don't want to be caught a lap back with 1hour to go 👍

Just run some tests and see how it is compared to the pescarolos. Those are the fastest AI cars

Thanks for the quick reply!

I really dislike using SRF and ASM slows you down something rotten. So I'll try the Turbo tomorrow.

Which Non LMP1 cars (tuned or not), can win the 24h le mans without much afford?

Yay! Just lapped the hybride that's in 2nd place whil pitting... but now I have to pit next lap....

I did it again yesterday, just pausing once. The Hybride was not in the lineup, but the Audi R8 Team Playstation was. I used a Bentley Speed 8. Lapped the second place about 12 hours in with better pit strategy.
The race was different this time, as I started with about 30% water on RH tires. Then it stopped raining and surface water went down to 0% before nightfall (in the game), but only an hour later it began raining again and did not stop again for 15 hours. This is the most rain I have ever seen in a weather event, holy cow! I even feel wet... I kept hoping it would stop soon and kept going. In all actuality, I should have restarted after 4 hours of rain...

Ah, what a nice sunset on the de la sarthe.... the lights are turning on on my car.... can't wait for it to be completely dark, because I love going down the straight without seeing anything :)

EDIT: what a nice display of fireworks!

How far ahead are you mate? Also, the fireworks will get annoying eventually...

Well, the fireworks.... stopped. It turned nighttime at around 4 hours and 30 minutes, and they started at 5- 5 and a half hours, and stoppd at 8 hours...... oh, I'm on lap, I think 168 or so, and am 2 laps ahead! :-)

No fireworks in the rain, I guess.

Nope. I think the rain interferes with the ignition wiring connections and creates too much of a fire hazard particularly during an hour-long fireworks show, so the insurance company won't allow it. That's what Bob told me, at least.

Ok guys the two cars i have for this are the Minolta and the Toyota Gt-One. I'm having trouble setting up my minolta right without srf. should i switch to the gt one or turn srf on?

ok I've decided to stick with my fave car, the minolta, and I've put srf and r/m on front and back.

What i need to know is, does the minolta have headlights that come on???

May I ask which of those cars sound the best, haha. Sometimes I just need the music of the engine sound to help with boredom. I turn up the volume and then it gets me going. I'm assuming the 787b, but if there are better sounding ones in your opinion, please let me know.

And thanks a lot for this SHOE.

@Element
The headlights do work on the 88cv. Also, if you are having difficulty setting up the car, try hoping over to the tuning forum.

And @daus
As far as engine sound, it is impossible to beat the 787b. I also really enjoy the 905 (12000rpm). Only issue I have with the 787b would be if you use the interior view, the display is blinding at night. However, the 905 is standard, therefore, doesn't have an interior view. 👍

18 hours in, and 18 laps up on the second place Audi R8. I know ouch.:indiff:

Ironically I intended to go easier on them and actually planned pseudo "mechanical issues" by going 30 mph at random moments, but then the rain came in and said "lol nope".

Apparently they were lapping 4:35 in the wet whilst I was doing 3:45-50s.
