Honda City Turbo II Review

Under the current economic climate, there is a new trend towards small, cheap and economical hatchbacks. The Shogun built Honda City Turbo II seems to be the type of car for the current times, even if the original car was built in 1983. Let's take a look at the original, it had a mind boggling 113bhp and around 800kg so it was light and also fairly brisk, but also fairly forgettable to drive. This Shogun-City Turbo is much more though, 190+bhp, 720kg and rebuilt suspension and brakes to properly bring this car into the 20th century.

On the track this car feels very impressive, it shakes and judders with power, it's so very much more then the original, The short couple box mated with 190 bhp make this one of the quickest accelerating cars in this power class and THE quickest in its class.

Handling is nippy, in the old car is was very numb and inert, often the old car would turn fine into a corner but then out of nowhere would understeer from the track. No such problem in the Shogun Version, The steering is very light and pointy, the car feels very good, very sharp. Yes it still does understeer, all front-drive cars do but in this it doesn't lie about the fact that it will understeer so you as the driver have the knowledge that the car is understeering so you can do something to cure it.

There are issues though, I can't imagine this car being very cheap but it wouldn't be much over 50,000 minus the ridgidity refresh. 1st and 2nd are only there for burnout comps and appearances sake because the car just burns through these gears. The top speed is only 165 kph (101 mph). Also when you drive this car around your constantly expecting more, you want it to be faster but it isn't which is a shame because its fantastic to drive around in.

The Shogun City Turbo is an excellent take on an oldschool hatchback, the problem is when you get out, your always wanting a little more the this car offerers.

Thank you I hear you. I have been working on to not make it a burn out comp, and a fc lsd. Is there anything I can do for you? Or review any of yours?

Shoman I am thinking of joining ETZ.

have fun and tune some car's lol. If you need anything just let me know:tup:

Review of the 98 Ford Taurus SHO
A GREAT handler! Felt like a FR! I am used to the understeery stock version of the car. So when I tested it out I was very impressed. i tested it out at tubuska and got a 1:02 time. (I'm a pretty crappy driver, so hence the bad time.) I only had one thing I disliked about this car. The braking. I barley touch the braking pedal and the car slow down frowm 100 to 50.
Overall a great car to drive, this Sho stands out from every other Sho I tried.

wow thanks for the kind words! I forgot to put the trans settings up. I'm still working on them. Yeah the brakes are touchey. Yeah the lsd was the hard part of the car. I will finish the trans settings up and you will have to retest the car. Is there anything you need?

Nothing I need. I Will probably be testing more cars. I have a Sunfire in my garage and I haven't even used it so i will give the Sunfire a go.

EDIT: And buying a 1,2, and 3 NA tuning cost more than buying just buying 3.

Honda Life Step Van Review

If your looking for a fairly quick van with loads of space for lugging tonnes of stuff from place to place, why are you looking at a Honda Life Step Van. However if you want a large, square type vehicle with a good gob of power and sports suspension, the boys at Shogun Motorsport may be able to help you.

What we have is one of the most physco creations ever to come out of Honda, not the fastest or the best looking but definitely the craziest, the stock motor has been torn to pieces and thrown back together, the old motor chucked out 30bhp, this 67BHP which is a big improvement. The sports suspension is fairly well sorted, it isn't quite as chuckable as a Mini but it come pretty damn close. It also has a wicked turn in, no throttle oversteer was present in our test mule.

Not much use in the real world but as a testament to the Shogun company this is a pretty convincing and head turning concept vehicle, it has bucket loads of everything over the stock vehicle and looks like it would hold 5 people in box-like comfort. Crazy and mad and just a little bit special.

Props to you shoman for even bothering, I have had the mis-pleasure of tuning one of these bad boys before and it was an exercise in sheer pain, I gave up on it and sold the project at a massive loss.

Just like the last one. Fun in the corners. Car is a little taily.

I just thought I'd advise something shoman. You don't need to buy ALL three stages of NA, only the Stage 3 NA. ;)
