QUOTE Bonedwarf "Wah! Wah! Someones cheating!" Get over yourselves. Jeez! Unless the person wallriding/corner cutting is posting bragging about their times, then they can do what the hell they want.
I cheated the missions AND the rallys. Why? Because I have limited time to play, and I'd rather spend it racing, then trying to beat some stupid event where a car hits ME and *I* get a penalty. I've cheated the parts of the game I get no enjoyment from. ..... end quote
I agree with that, and in addition, I don't even think "cheating" is an entirely accurate description. I'll bet if an Ice Rally driver could lap faster by wall riding, and not damage his car, and not get black flagged (I don't have a clue if it's permitted or not) he'd do it. Racers do what it takes to win. In GT4, it's possible to ride walls and bounce over grassy embankments, the car does not suffer damage, and you are not usually penalised unless you really hit a barrier hard, in which case the accident you were busy having was probably enough of a penalty anyway.
Cheating is breaking the rules. In GT4, avoiding contact with a wall, or staying on the tarmac, are in most cases not rules. Therefore choosing to do so is a personal decision that everyone has the right to make - or not to make - for themselves.
I'm sure if Ferrari found some loophole in the rules that allowed them to supercharge their F1 cars when none of the other teams had noticed, you would not hear Michael Schumacher saying "no don't do that, it will make me unfairly fast."
