I think this game needs a drag strip on-line to eliminate the need to hold up a track for ppl to prove who`s fastest.
Yesterday I was at la Sarthe (no chicane) and came around the bend on the long straightaway, only to find ppl drag racing, I was at top speed when I hit them, sorta shocks your system.
I don`t know why they thought that was a good spot, but maybe if there was a track, they would go there, although my experience says it won`t matter.
But there was a Strip on GT4, Las Vegas and I don`t think there was on-line play.

For me a drag strip wouldn't add anything.
But some people might be happy with it.

To be honest a drag strip does not show who is fastest, just who has the fastest car.
But I muight be wrong, it is just how I see it.

It could/should perhaps be DLC then only those that want it would buy it, so I guess it comes down to money i.e. would enough people buy it for it to be profitable enough to PD and Sony to produce and distribute?
That said I would probably buy it and then hardly ever use it, just like route x.

This debate again. You should try building a 10 second car and making some 10 second passes before you go and bash drag racing. ;)

Online strip with a real tree, et's, win lights, and real red lights would be sweet.

I'd visit that once in awhile and know several that would be drag racing online exclusively.

I'm not interested in drag racing myself but I can't see any objection to it being added given the popularity of drag racing rooms online, must be considered very helpful if a drag function with lights and all would be added.
I can't see it being very hard to do either (but maybe I'm wrong) if they just use straight sections of tracks already included (Route X would be the most obvious candidate I guess).

i think the real trick is to get the light working while in free run. this way people can still change their cars and rejoin. the light would have to be able to detect the cars waiting in front and detect false starts and jumps.

Should make this a pole before it gets closed and redirected to the wish list thread!

There was a track on GT4, it shouldn`t be too hard to adapt it to on-line.

It doesn`t have to be a DLC, just create it and put it in on a maintenance up-date.

PS, sorry I didn`t know how to grab each quote and have one post.:)

If they just opened an option to use the Route X test track online, then that would be perfect. Forza has one and it works just fine there so why not bring it to gt5? I would buy it and i join drag race lobbies about 1 time out of a week lol even if it was like $5. I think its something that everyone would benefit from because it would get the annoying people that join pp races and all they want to do is drag race people in the free run before the race and it would get them out of all of the other lobbies. It would also make Indy a course you could actually race on again lol. Just my thoughts.

I don't care for drag racing at all but it absolutely should be in the game officially given its popularity. If drifting can have an official game mode so should drag.

This will never happen PD doesn't care about us.

Turn ten is the best racing organzation for continually listening to it's fan base. PD is the worst on the planet.

We have zero connection to anything PD does. Haven't you figured that out yet.

This guy has a good argument!!!

Because of all the traffic on the EA servers for NFS Pro Street's drag rooms they just shut it down last month (game released 11/2007), so I'd say online drags would probably be pretty popular.

Like i said in my post though, it would be pointless without the Tree to tell us to launch etc. the GT4 las vegas did not have a light.

I didn`t say that the track (on GT4) didn`t need tweeking, but a track (on GT5) would be good, even if it just gave you a direction to point ppl to instead of the exit of the pits.:)
I hate running into ppl just as I`m starting a warm-up lap.

It's DLC, and very popular amoung drag racers such as myself, however it's very flawed. It's called the Speed Test pack in the PSN store.

Although you are pro drag strip your poll is like "no-heavy"?

If there is a need of a "Las Vegas" drag strip it should be nighttime!

Among the many no-brainers for improving GT5 this is among the no-brainiest:)
I've never had any interest in drag racing mainly because I like corners but also because there's no drag strip, no lights, no staging etc. If there were a real strip, I'd probably be into it. Given the number of drag rooms online, it seems pretty obvious it would be a great addition to the game.

Think PD cashed in with their rip-off Speed Test that doesn't even work right 99% of the time anyways.

That isn`t on-line, that`s in regular GT mode.
I said "On-Line".
You know, where you play/drive against other living ppl, not AI.

A poll "is" what it is, I can`t make ppl want something, it`s like feeling out the crowd, some want it, some don`t, heck, some even like getting hit or blocking the track...
And if it was on-line, the host could determine time of day, like most other tracks.

I'm not bashing anything.
I think I was pretty clear that it was my opinion.
