Should I always use my fastest car?

I am about to start a 4 hour endurance race on level 32. The fastest competitor is only pumping out 619 BHP.
Is it unfair for me to use my fastest car and just win the race, or should just blitz them all and do it in my fastest car? Please help my conscience, I'm in a quandary?

What kind of question is that? You can't even make up your own mind for a video game?

But to go on topic: a lot of people use their fastest (or any overpowered) car for a race, which takes all the fun out of it.
PD introduced limits for their seasonal events, and suddenly people were complaining how they were 'too difficult'.
So PD gave in and took the restrictions off, so you get a lot of people thinking it's OK to use an overpowered car in any race.

I personally think it's stupid, lazy, and takes all the fun and challenge out of a race and even the entire game.
You should play the game because it's FUN, not because you want to win whatever the cost.

If you use your fastest car, you will get out in front and be bored for the rest of the race.

I suggest using a car, with a little less power than the leading car, to keep it a fun battle.

There you have the consequence of making A-Spec and B-Spec events free from the most obvious restrictions or performance points. Your safe bet would be to use a slightly overpowered car. Keep the race competitive and ensure you have a good chance of getting gold. In the end it's all up to you how you feel most comfortable playing the game.

It depends entirely on whether or not you're willing to risk losing the race at the 3:59 mark because you lost concentration... I think I'll probably run through each endurance race with an overpowered car and then may go back to them again in a few years' time, like I did with GT4 and all the A-Spec events so far.

Frankly I'm more than happy to treat the endurance races like very long hot lap sessions, which I think will influence my choice of car more than anything else; I don't want to use the X2010, but I will likely use something quite handy.

Why should it be unfair? The AI doesn't care at all ;)

I normally overpower the opponents the first time I run an endurance to make sure I win and get the price car... the second time I choose a car that give me a challenge...

If that is the Nurburgring endurance, then the decision is a bit more difficult to make. Power means nothing if you're only mowing the grass with it and the Nurburgring is demanding in terms of a car's handling and 'nimbleness'.

I still haven't decided which car to use for it:
- RX8 Prototype LM Race car with awesome handling on the 'ring
- Pumped up fast Ford GT LM Test Car with slightly less comfortable handling

I may go for the less powerful but more comfortable RX8 because I think 4 hours of total concentration on the Nordschleife will kill me :nervous:

Use a low powered car, start with sports tires. By the end of the race if you feel you're going to lose, change tires to Racing Soft and take the lead.
