Well, I have £200 pounds lying around and there are a few exclusives that I want on the 360, plus the network is more reliable and I can play a few older games on it...

Yes. Especially with Forza 4 coming out soon.

I'd just wait for Forza 4 to come out.
Save your money until you have enough to buy a wheel also.

Don't think of it has "buying an XBox". Take into consideration that you're not only buying the machine, but also EVERYTHING that goes with it. Then make your decision.

I enjoy my 360. I much prefer my Playstation 3 and I don't feel that Live! offers me anything more in terms of stability or reliability than PSN but I still think it is worth the purchase to play the exclusive titles.

Well... I have a DFGT, so the XBOX would before things like NFS, CoD, BF and forza, because I've played it and it feels very arcadey.

If you want to play the 360 exclusives then by all means get the system if you have the cash. I have one and I play it daily pretty much, getting some Gears 2 and Dead Space 2 online in. The network is way more stable than the psn that's for dang sure. Plus I like the dashboard a lot better than the xmb, personal preference and all that.

yes. you should also save up for a Fanatec 911 Turbo S/GT2 and Clubsport Pedals for your driving games(dont buy one with Standard Pedals because they seem to break easily).

The standard pedals have been buffed I've read. This should no longer be the case hopefully. The main issue is the wait for those wheels, unreliable ship predictions, & customer support

Wow! You know, for a Gran Turismo oriented site, there sure are a lot of Xbox fanboys.

Also...Xbox Live isn't as reliable as people say it is. It's been around longer than PSN, so they've learned from their mistakes and it's a bit smoother when playing online, but...I seem to remember XBL going down quite a few times when I was playing. And what makes those down times even more painful is that if you have DLC attached to your game, you cannot play said game 'cause all the DLC content is stored online, whereas, with PSN, all your DLC content is stored on the HDD. Sure, it takes up HDD space (which XBL DLC content doesn't as much since most of the data is online), but when PSN is down, you can still drive all your DLC cars and play with all your DLC content. I'm sorry, but that is something they NEED to change with their next system. The original Xbox stored DLC info on the HDD...Apparently foresight at MS isn't 20/20, though. Like I said, yeah, it takes up a bit more HDD space, but when the online service goes down, it's nice to be able to actually play all of those games you spent your hard earned money on. You know that if what happened to PSN happened to XBL, there'd be an outrage 'cause no one would be able to play their games and essentially it would make the Xbox a giant paperweight.

But...as for which console to buy...take your pick. The Xbox is a good system, lot of great games. PSN is a good system with a lot of great games. The Xbox is a great system for FPS and the triggers also work well with driving games, but the analog sticks on the PS3 controller work well for driving games, as well, and the triggers are alright for FPS games.

So...I mean...Don't ask people here 'cause there are too many fanboys. Just do your research, and if you WANT to buy an Xbox, then do it.

The Xbox is great when it works, heck, I would still have one if my last three didnt die :P.

If you buy one of the newer ones (with the falcon chip?) you shouldnt have too many issues in the near future with it. If you have the money, go for it, there are a bunch of great games us PS3 users cant play :).

Hmmm... Just a question, if I bought a game of XBL and then it went down, would I be able to play my DLed game? And I'm seriously tempted for the 360. I might wait till E3 though, since the 720 could be just around the corner...

uhh, ive downloaded every Forza 3 DLC pack and they still work offline. and how do we know if youre a fanboy or not? dont call everyone else a fanboy just for having opinions.

Leave the fan-boy digs at the door or take a break from GT Planet.

This is a valid discussion and one I will not see dragged down by those members who seem unable to get past the fact that people can enjoy more than one console.

i dont think the Xbox 720 will be here for another few years. and yes, you will be able to play games you have downloaded on Xbox Live offline.

Yes DLC works offline don't worry.

My digital version of GTprologue doesn't for some reason.

Had a load of rockband stuff that works and my HD is full up with that crap.

Yes, you should go and buy a new 360. Then, you can go down to one of your local shops and buy a few older games for great prices and it's like a whole new world of adventure.:dopey:

I purchased a 360 in April of last year and bought games like Over G fighters, all the Halo games including Halo Wars (great game), Chromehounds (a cool mech game, but no multiplayer support anymore), the Gears of War games and Forza 3 for extremely discounted prices and I am still building my collection with the new releases of course. I do still love my PS3 as well and play it just as much.

I'll definitely do some research, and the 250gig Slim can be had for £160 round here, leaving about £60 for games...

Well, if your parents do let you purchase one, remember to buy the Left 4 Dead games. Those are great games that you can get really cheap now. You can always buy the lower capacity hardrive version and get just as much enjoyment out of it and it is probably a bit cheaper.

Amen brother. I have both 1 and 2 and they both are fun to play, especially when drunk with friends lol.

Don't.

Xbox has no games. All you get is multiplat which are avaliable on PC, PS3 waste of money. Rather buy more games instead of another console

I would say buy it.

Xbox has lots of games and exclusives which are not available on PS3 or PC.

Now aside from you post being blatantly inaccurate and your rather interesting grammar has you stating that the PS3 is a waste of money (quite an nice back-fire given I'm sure that was not your original intention), your post is borderline flame-bait.

We don't appreciate members who post with the sole intention of starting arguments, if you wish to contribute to this thread, then do so using well reasoned and factual arguments. Not inaccurate nonsense.

You don't seem to have much knowledge about video games. Investing on 360 is a bad idea.

There you go:

And you don't seem to have much of an idea of the kind of behaviour required to remain a member here.

A quick heads up, insults are never a smart idea, insults aimed at staff who are offering you advice are an ever worse idea.

Posting in a manner than is clearly designed to start an argument is not permitted, I've quite clearly already said this and this will be the last time I will say it.

If you want to post a clearly biased piece of information that totally ignores the entire 360 back catalogue while stating that the 360 has 'no games' then don't act surprised if you an argument develops and you are looked to as the cause.

I would strongly suggest that you think on that a little more when you post in future, because those here simply to start arguments and post flame-bait do not last long.

By all means post a reasoned argument as to why you think the 360 is not worth purchasing, but do it without blatant bias, biased information and insulting members.
