I used the search & didn't end up with reasonable results, so I'm asking myself.

Now that I bought a FGT, I now feel the need to buy my favorite cars, as buying the FGT was a great milestone. After the purchase, I grind up to 1,247,458 Credits, enough to purchase some cars. My 1st choice was the McLaren F1. Unfortunately, It cost 1,000,000 Credits. Buying it will make a dent in my budget, & I'm planning to buy cars that are more than 1,000,000 Credits -- a lot more. So, I'm asking you guys -- the GTPlanet members -- If I should buy it or not. So until I rack up some posts, I'll save my budget for now.

Please post accurate results, & that you actually own the car, either tuned or not. I hope it's not much to ask.

what accurate results do you need?

It does 7:10 stock on the ring with sport hard tires on, that's all you need in terms of performance.

other than that, it's whether you like driving it or not.

It's a good car, fun to drive and handles well, but you don't need it. Best premium car that you "need" is Mazda 787b. The paint job is not beautiful, but the sound it makes is the best in GT5, the handling is great, and you win with it. Everytime. Even bob loves it.

The Mazda 787b? I did see positive reviews & stuff for that car. However, It's not my favorite car & I never did drove it, so maybe I'll give it into consideration.

EDIT: When I saw the demo for the car in the dealership, It sounded very well made. It also had an interesting history (from the description). However, the car costs 5,260,000 Credits, & I have to do the same process over again from the FGT. Still, the car captured my full attention.

Why not its only credits. :)

Only Credits? I had to grind several days for the FGT, plus 2 hrs of driving on the Indy superspeedway in the American Championship yesterday.

What I mean of "accurate results" is like its performance & its weaknesses & stuff like that.

It's the McLaren F1. You shouldn't even have to ask. There aren't many cars that can match its potent combination of speed, cornering, and beauty.

👍

Is the McLaren F1 a premium car or standard car? Sorry if this seems to be a stupid question to some of you :P

All cars bought from non-used car/ Online dealership are premium :)

So it is a Premium car. What's the price? 1 million Cr?

Thanks guys for your responses. It's come to much conclusion that I will buy it when I get some high credits, like 3,000,000 Credits, & still have the money for something else. Thanks guys for the help, even though only 1 or 2 posted correctly..

With the F1 you can, strangely, keep it ahead of Veyrons and GTbyCitroens with incredible ease. In a Pro level arcade race on Le Sarthe with no chicanes. Unmodified. And it will draft the veyrons on lap one and hit 260!!!!!!!
To keep it really really fast you need only a little delicacy with the throttle pedal. Anywhere above second gear, you can floor it easy.
The interior view is really good, the centered seat making it the easiest premium road car to place in your corners. The car sounds amazing, looks impressive, and you can buy all sorts of spoiler things for it. And it can be very heavily modified power wise. But not turbocharged.
Yet it can be spun quite easily by collisions on its standard and rubbish tires. Buy at very least the Sports soft tires.

The car is sexy, sleek and can go fast...not as fast as the 231mph/40mph benchmark though, infact when not drafting it has the same speed as a ferrari enzo...217/9mph pretty slow for the f1 at the top end...however it's up to you, I bought one and put it in chrome silver. Is sexy that's for sure. Now have a chrome veyron (supersport tuned) chrome mclaren f1 and will get chrome citroen gt road car.

Make sure that when you buy the F1, you immediately slap on the straight wing and the front aero kit. That way it looks just like the McLaren F1 LM 👍

And yes, it's just credits. You can get over one million credits by completing the Dream Car Championship in your FGT. Just start a race, walk away and do something productive/fun, come back after ~40 minutes, start the next race, repeat.

The 1st bolded text: I remember hearing about McLaren developing a GT version of the car because of its popularity for being a legal road car & performance from the description in the game (yes I read it).

The 2nd bolded text means I have to do B-Spec, but I'm only at lvl 7. However, it is available for A-Spec.

Top Speed's excellent. Thanks for providing it!

@Tweetman_277
Thanks for the tips for the car.

Still, my conclusion is still the same.

I own the car.

It's fantastic. I love every cent of it.

The down side is it's gear ratios stocked (which can be fixed). It's 1/2/3 gears are really long, and take's time getting used to.

But overall the car is really a great investment, one of my favorite cars.

I like the F1. Have been driving it for a while. Was the freeby with the Collector Edition. Bumped up the power a bit. Won the Minolta the other night. It drives very well. I still like the F1, though.

I saved up forever early on to buy it, and I love it. Handles, speed, looks, sound, the whole package. Then I won a new one just a little while ago for completing gold all the series of races in the expert tab. I was kinda pissed, but now I have a stock one to play with.

I would highly recommend spending some quality time with b-spec Bob though. Being able to just turn him loose and go do something else and come back to find more cash is a great thing. It's the reason so many on here are saying "It's just credits". Money comes easy with a high level Bob.

Enzo is Powerful, but its not best handling, someting about ferraris they always handle ****

You guys now convinced me to buy it. Let's hope those 1 million credits doesn't go to waste.

EDIT: Bought the car. Now to suit it up with some tuning & take it for a test drive!

Bolded text only: Cool. I'll get started on b-spec.

The 787b is a nice car, I bought one yesterday. A couple of weeks ago I bought a Peugeot 908 for 1.2mil less and I like it a lot better. They are both nice cars though, you can clean a lot of clocks with the 908. I would focus on getting a car or two that will help you win cars that you need for other races.
