Should I buy the McLaren F1 '94?

The 787b is a nice car, I bought one yesterday. A couple of weeks ago I bought a Peugeot 908 for 1.2mil less and I like it a lot better. They are both nice cars though, you can clean a lot of clocks with the 908. I would focus on getting a car or two that will help you win cars that you need for other races.

787b is already into my consideration. The Peugeot 908: I hadn't see any reviews for the car, & I hadn't driven the car in earlier GT titles.

EDIT: The car costs 4 million -- 1 million & 560 thousand less than the 787b. Maybe I will place it into consideration.

Make sure that when you buy the F1, you immediately slap on the straight wing and the front aero kit. That way it looks just like the McLaren F1 LM 👍

Ah yes, one of the first things I did to it.

👍

Only Credits? I had to grind several days for the FGT, plus 2 hrs of driving on the Indy superspeedway in the American Championship yesterday.

Bspec GT Dream + FGT or X1 = 1.080.000 cr + about 90.000 exp in an hour.
So it takes about an hour, afk, to buy it.

Buy it, it only credits and this car is a legend in the automobile industry.

Good plan, but my bob isn't high enough, & I'm only at level 7 on B-Spec.

Once you have the cars you need to compete in Aspec my advice is to buy ever car you can until you have them all.

I bought the MP4-12C '10 instead of the F1. Sometimes the horsepower does not really mean as much as the overall performance of the vehicle. I haven't driven the F1 yet but the MP4 is fantastic 👍 and costs a lot less. In my opinion the old cars are just that... OLD. I have some favorite old cars just for nostalgic reasons not for performance.

The MP4-12C '10 is also a reward car from the 24h of Nurburgring.

IMO, as fantastic as the MP4-12C '10, it come nowhere near the pretige of the F1

The 908 is not in any earlier GT titles as it is a 2010 model LMP. :) It is substantially cheaper than the 787B and IMO a better purchase. I find when I have tuned both for testing that the 787B has about 5-8km/h better top speed than the 908. HOWEVER, the 908 is IMO the best balanced LMP/Group C car in the game. I seem for no apparent reason to be able to carry much better corner speed in the 908 than anything else. So when you look at price and overall lap times I would say it is hard to overlook the 908 (Plus the Oreca Matmut version looks SWEET! :sly:)
Aside from that if you are after "bang-for-buck" vehicles. The Zonda R '09 is a very safe option at only 2.6 million (2.75 million fully tuned!). Although you can win this easily in B-Spec mode by winning GT World Championship (Professional) which makes it even better value! 👍
There are alot of Zonda R haters out there because it is not a REAL race-car but instead a track-car although I have had not trouble winning any event with LMP/Group C cars with it (even with all AIDS off!) :)
IMO the Zonda R is the best "value-for-money" option. But if you must have an LMP/Group C car then you cannot beat the cornering balance of the 908 and the fact that it is the cheapest premium LMP/Group C! Hope that explains it. :sly:
Cheers.

I have both and I can tell you that as good as the MP4 is the F1 is... special. Both are quick and nimble, while the MP4 feels just a little bit lighter (the feel is augmented by its stock gearbox which has shorter ratio compared to the F1) the F1 sticks to the road better and is more predictable. So your lap time should be consistently better with the F1 in my experience and altough the MP4 is indeed a lot of fun the F1 is where it is at, at least for me :)

They are both outstanding cars 👍

It's a good car, fun to drive and handles well, but you don't need it. Best premium car that you "need" is Mazda 787b. The paint job is not beautiful, but the sound it makes is the best in GT5, the handling is great, and you win with it. Everytime. Even bob loves it.

787B Stealth looks pretty good IMO - and only $500 for engine and chassis rebuilds 👍 :)

I'm a little off-topic, but I have to tell you, you have the best username I've seen on here. Good job!👍

Farther off topic... Whenever my girlfriend is driving fast, especially in the rain, I always call her out and say "Whoa there, Stig!" When we first started goin' out she told me it was her favorite show, so I knew it was perfect.

I find I can driver the F1 with the throttle without much trouble. I hang out the rear and use the throttle to get it through the corner.

As far a funds, and obtaining cars, I need to get Bob to work.

Right, so there's no guarantee that the OP will get that lucky.

Are you reading this, OP? :dopey:
