Should I Purchase Stealth Models?

There are quite a few cars in the dealership that offer "Stealth Model" versions of the car. They're always higher PP values, so I'd assume they're cars with more horsepower and/or torque than their "regular model" counterpart.

What I want to know is, am I better off just sticking to the regular models? I seriously doubt there will ever be Seasonal Events where I can use a Stealth Model, could there be? Obviously, if I can afford to have as many cars as I want, having the Stealth Models would be fun to have, but are they sensible?

What are your opinions on the Stealth Model versions of cars in Gran Turismo? Should they exist? Are they a foolish purchase in the sense that you can't really use them in most events? Does the Chrome Line of cars fit in with the same pros & cons of owning a Stealth Model edition?

I ask this question because as the owner of the 15th Anniversary Edition of GT6 there are many times where I can't use my Anniversary Edition cars because they're higher PP than base versions. Another bummer is trying to find a tune that actually is translatable for my Anniversary Edition cars. I'd prefer not to run into that problem if I drop money on Stealth Model cars.

What say you GTPlanet members? What are your thoughts on Stealth Model cars? Pros & cons?

It's always dependent on your choice - it's your game, but I personally feel the stealth models are a good purchase - they are essentially race versions of the base car in a black livery - like the Anniversary edition cars are race versions of their base cars with a blue livery, or in the case of the already race cars like the R18 just the same car with a different livery and a bit of extra performance.

The stealth cars are superior to their road counterpart for this reason - extra hp, less weight and aerodynamics to make them perform like a race car.

The chromeline cars are different - they are actually just the normal car with stripes and stuff on them, and in most cases are inferior to their normal counterpart because they can be heavier. But that's not to knock them at all - I do like my Chromeline Jaguar XJ13 because it has stripes.

Of all the stealth cars the best ones are the GT500 cars, but that's just my opinion. All of the stealth cars can be used in career races, there are tunes available for them - I know Praiano has a tune or two for the stealth cars. And there's probably no reason why you couldn't use them in online lobbies alongside other race cars at set PPs.

I personally own them, but have not used them very much - same with the Anniversary cars, but they are in my garage should I ever choose to use them. As an SLS and 787B fan the stealth variants are pretty much a no question purchase.

I really like the stealth model cars; i have the gt-r super gt and the mazda 787b stealth models, and i got a 350z super gt base model and painted it matte black as well :P they've never caused me any of the problems you stated, and i think they look really sexy and also have basically the same tuning options, so i think set ups for things such as suspension remain the same regardless as to whether or not your car is a stealth model. Basically, if you like the original liveries more, get those (don't get me wrong i prefer the original livery for the 787b but i have one in gt5 so i wanted the stealth in gt6), if you think matte black looks pretty sick on race cars, and have a few thousand extra, get the stealths :D

You can tune down Anniversary and Stealth modules if needed. Unless the car is not allowed period.

I have all the stealth versions they are nice variations. Praiano and Exeter GT have great tunes for these cars.
