I agree metaljet, It's all about whether or not your used to your view or not. I use cockpit for offline play occasionally and it's really fun to play that way and I enjoy seeing the car vibrate as it hits redline. But for me, I'm just too used to 3rd person view and I'm the fastest that way. However I always try to find ways to make myself faster, but unfortunately, changing the views isn't helping me so I'm sticking to 3rd person since I'm doing well enough. I just tend to win the races that occur on particular tracks that I'm used to. Mostly the tracks from Prologue. And yes, the racing wheel will make you at least 2 seconds faster, but I just find it harder to counter steer with the wheel and pay for my mistakes more than if I was using a controller pad.
