Honestly, do you really think I'm going to let anybody here, or anywhere else, make up my mind? I just like hearing what people think. What made you think I was attempting to "tip the scales?" Do you seriously think that just because somebody wants other opinions it must be to make their mind up? You reaved a lot about your own judgement by making that comment.

I sit at a boring job all day and make threads about what interests me to pass the time... and I get paid for it.

Mile,
Go back to school. It is definitely more rewarding to work in a field that you love. Even if the remuneration is not up to what you want. I would rather "scuffle" and be happy than have all I think I need and more, but being miserable in the process.
When I completed my undergrad degree we had FIVE little ones, with THREE in diapers. When I finished Nursing School, I was trying to keep house and take care of six kids with three in day care.
It's now five years out of Nursing School. Most of my education is paid for. I only have to work three days a week. I'm home for most of my kids functions and to just be "dad'.
Unlike me, you are in the unique position of KNOWING what you want to do with your life.
Do what you must to reach your goal. If you do it now while the baby is just a baby, he won't remember the years of "scuffling".
