Show off your sim racing rig here!

I bought this just before Christmas, a Trak Racer TR8 Pro V2 rig. It's much sturdier than my previous setup, which flexed quite a lot especially under heavy braking.

The phone/dash is running SIM Dashboard for the data.

Very nice clean setup. Is the monitor on a downward angle for clearance, FOV or preference? I'm curious if you can tell it's not in line with your vision. I can't do this with my triple screens but it would have helped with getting the center monitor exactly where I needed it.

I'm sat quite low and reclined, so its almost square on to me. It also reduces glare from a window and lights behind me.

Would like to be reclined more, but the wheel is too far away - so have ordered an extension.

Took the plunge with the playseat trophy and RS50 wheel and pedals.

Was only in the controller for a couple of weeks so the transition was very quick and oh my days the enjoyment and immersion moving to a rig is absolutely incredible! Been having a blast with it since the 27th.

Had some good advice on sizing from people here which I appreciate. I’m 195cm tall so was worried about it but to be honest I don’t even have it on the longest setting so there is room for people taller

the room is just big enough for the TV 😅

haha this was a bone of contention with my wife!!!! Luckily the rule of my cave! my rules won and the 100 inch came in :)

I was concerned initially it was too big but to be fair it's the perfect size for complete immersion in both games and movies. There is a couch behind, I'm not watching movies in the rig

as long as the rig is not in front of your wife when she wants to watch a movie 😅

100inch ? I am not even sure it would go through my doors, did you build the cave around the TV ? 🤣

haha - she has the whole rest of the house to use at her leisure.

I built the room specifically for PS5 and the TV came in before the wall was put up so I actually don't know if I will ever get it out if needed!

I've been modifying my rig for better portability, storage, strength & comfort.

As a 6ft 100kg middle aged man with a wife & 2 young boys this was needed as I can't have a full rig set up all the time so that's why the above statement is the most important thing.

While the modifications may look hideous the practicality behind this mod is an absolute blessing as its now freestanding as well without having to lean on anything.

All done by visual planning & building on the fly with no plan whatsoever, very strong, very stable & not much heavier than the original weight, it can still be carried by one adult.

I've used unistrut for strength & m10 bolts/wheels as I've seen too many m8 wheels snap on aluminium rigs, the only m8 bolts used are to connect to the original framework.

Modifications including a unistrut framework underneath, at the rear & across the next to the seat.

12x m10 bolt through wheels, 3 at the back, 3 in the middle for weight distribution & strength while seated, 2 at the front end & 4 at the back for when transporting in the vertical/closed up position.

Used air conditioning anti vibration hard rubber mounts under the seat at the front to give more of a bucket seat feel as I always thought this seat was pretty flat originally so it's much more comfortable now, these are placed between the seat & the rail system so the rail system is still straight & not at an angle.

Raised the support for the shifter onto the new unistrut framework as I always felt it was a little to low.

Added a nice 6mm cushioned felt pad for comfort on the brake plate when playing in socks.

The custom brake pedals has already been shown on here somewhere already this just enables me to go from left foot braking to heel & toe easier without having adjust the brake pedals or having my feet to close together.

So I've taken Karl Gosling folding mod to a new level, hope you guys like it.

Thanks mate 👍
You can get black pre-painted/pre cut unistrut lengths but it's a little more expensive & I didn't know if it was going to work as well as it did so I just bought the basic 2x 3m lengths & cut it myself, also black castors would've looked better but never mind.
