The soundvolume is a bit low!

Edit. The flashviewer link is ok.

Awesome stuff!

I Can't listen to it as I'm at work, how long is left on the 9min hold?

I wanted to go see this one, but alas, I couldn't wake up early enough..

The plan right now is to go see the FINAL EVER shuttle launch that's coming up by the end of the year (i think).

Excellent. Never watched a live shuttle launch, so this is kinda exciting for me!

July.

Going to see one didn't work out that well for us - though we got to see her on the pad at least.

Just got the "Clear to launch".

Edit: I'd like to see these birds flying around freak out when the boosters fire.

Well...
I just watched my first ever shuttle launch from the toilet...
I love smartphones. :D

👍

Normally I could see it form my backyard (not gloating), but it's too cloudy to see today :(

Just saw it via the link in the OP and on BBC News. The live feed on the NASA website was 13 seconds behind that of the TV feed.

Man that was cool. 11 second delay between the news and live stream.

Edit: Is this where I say Tree'd?

Dang It! I was making lunch and thought I would get back to the computer before it started, missed the whole thing! Saw Discovery live though. Waiting for a full Endeavor replay to be put up.

Robin.

Replays just been announced.
Better get watching soon Robin. :)

WOW! That looked so cool just as it went through the clouds!

Sjees, I would give up both my legs to ride one of those puppies.

That was the first one I saw live. Thanks for the link 👍

This time they got lucky, it didn't blow up. Phew. :scared:

It just blew up once. Why would they be lucky now?

There was a mini story earlier on the live stream talking about how the endeavor came to be, from the challenger explosion to the nationwide contest to name the next shuttle.

I don't know about you guys but i had the chills when the crew gave their speech after the prelaunch cheCks were complete.

All I could think of was "lucky bastards". Flying one of the most awesome inventions of mankind ever. 👍 for the Space Shuttle.

Here's the closest I've been to a launch:

So close and yet... so far away.

I missed it. Why? School. :ouch: I hope they let us watch the final launch live (on telly oboviously) otherwise I will be so 🤬 off.

Im not even from the States and I've seen one in person.

Absoluetly amazing, was in May of 09 we where on holdiay to florida and we heard they where going to launch, Endeavor I beleive. We parked up on a beach just off the freeway, I reckon we where 5 miles or so back from the launch site. We where waiting about 10 minutes with a crowd of people when the next thing you see this small rectangle and an enormous flame bellowing out the bottom. Took like a minute and a half before the initial noise of the engines firing hit us.Amazing.
