EDIT: Removed for the moderators.
Don't even think about it. We have a policy of not letting people public accuse others of wrongdoing. Even if they feel they have proof of it. The reason for this is that if people start accusing one another, then the accused tends to take it very personally and everything descends into a flame war, which is something we are very keen to avoid. If you believe you have been the victim of a bad trade, ten please use the grief reporting function on the PSN homepage.3) Name & shame away. There's no room for scammers.
My advice, earn the cars, you wont get scammed then!!!!
The mods don't like people accusing people of scamming (even if they undoubtably have) and according to the thread in the marketplace they won't investigate scammers anymore. The only thing you can do is send a complaint to Sony.
I've done business with people in two other forums and they use a very reliable trading engine (or whatever it is) called iTrader, a Buy/Sell/Trade (BST) System.
With it, one people can rate the seller or buyer, leave a detailed comment for mods and buyer/seller to see, and a general comment for public viewers. It shows all results: positive, negative and neutral. Since people are serious about this because money and real possessions are involved, if you get the deal done, people will instantly trust you and give you 100% feedback ratings. And as soon as you get a negative feedback, your chance at future trading is crippled severely.
Not only that, when brosing the trading section, every post has a BST Feedback rating (0-100%) under your avatar and quick info. So if we had it, the BST feedback percentage could sit underneath my post count.
I think it's very useful for GTP, and I recommend investing into it if scams get out of hand, won't need the buy/sell part though.
Of course people can easily just give someone a negative feedback if they hate them for no apparent reason, but that kind of lie won't last long once a mod and previous positive feedbacks confirm it.
We don't ban because somebody has a bad reputation. We ban because they break the rules. Technically, if we ban somebody for scamming, we're actually banning them for using the forums to facilitate a bad trade. However, it's practically impossible to prove, which is why we ended investigations. In over 100 complaints, we had a case closure rate of less than 10%, and only a handful of those were permanent bans. We will take action if we believe we have cause to, and we know a lot of the stuff that goes on outside the public space of the forums, but we ask that you please just let us handle it. Taking matters into your own hands by publicly accusing people does more harm than good. So don't think you're doing everyone a favour by listing all the people you've had a bad experience with. You're not.Put them on negative rep, That will get them banned if their one GTPlanet, and hopefully keep everyone else away from these guys.
Someone's been reading the Banned User Log.To me, scamming is playing chicken with the moderators, and they'd be driving a Mack truck.
