As a big gt fan and especially a fan of the driving sim side rather than racing. I was really lookin forward to this track more than anything else, as somewhere to take a stock car for a realistic drive as if im on a real road as nothing much else caters for this in gt6.

I have just watched the video of the whole track and i must say i am totally deflated. I was really hoping this would be the typical European mountain road with lots hairpins and blind crests. No what we get is straight out of need for speed lots of long fast corners with little varation for such a vast track. Looks boring as hell when it could have been amazing. Guess will just have to wait and see if course creater will cater for me and anybody who wants the same.

For me this game is about getting in a car i could only dream of owning in real life and driving it round roads similar to that i would in reality to really get a feel for how much faster and better it is that my daily real car, i feel gt does the standard car better than anybody but gives us no real roads to drive on.
Currently i drive around Monaco(on comforts) sticking to one lane for my real road hit and this has been brilliant as i can really feel the different ability of the cars.
I have no real world experience of cars on a race track to racing a street car on a massive track 4 times as wide as any road i have driven means nothing to me in terms of getting to know a car and its abilty.
So i had high hopes this track could be what i was looking for but no we get an arcadey track with arcade check points and bonuses, i think gt is not aiming for realism anymore therefore i am left with no game that caters for me not even this 'real driving simulator' with no real driving roads. Im probabily in the minority with this but this was the only game that catered for me and now its just turning into the same as the rest. Gutted.

I think youre playing the wrong game then, if thats what youre looking for.
Test drive unlimited 2 is the game for you.
Very nice cars and nice tracks trough nature. But not real tracks/roads

I was expecting that too, but no one is going to force you to race on it. I will, even if it was not what I was expecting.

And also, physics that are not real.

Dont get me wrong i will still enjoy the track its just i was hoping for a real style road like test drive has as for me its a glaring miss to have a physics engine that works so well for driving rather than racing but no tracks to actually drive on.
A corsica type thing would have been awesome, im sure the first video with the toyota thingy on it had lots more twisty roads so hopefully we will get a couple of versions of sierra. Just brought me crashing down to earth when i watched that video of a road no more exciting than my local bypass i drive everyday, maybe the course creater will be what i need and i can replicate some amazing local roads and give that dimension to the game that it doesnt have as everyhing else is their.
Great selection of real cars and the tyre model i think is really good when played with comfort(real road) tyre.
Just seems a shame to take such a stunning area with some stunning real roads and slap one of these roads that just slices through the scenery rather than go with it like most european b roads do. Maybe i got my hopes up to much but that video was really dissapointing to watch.
Will still have great fun on it as i do with all gt tracks but was hoping for something bit more special. Oh well bring on course creater.

The old games had a better variety of these type of real world like road/tracks. The horizan games are obviously catering for this on xbox but is nothing on ps, would only take one or two road tracks then gt would be the best of both worlds imho. If i could have every track and feature from all the previous Gt. games then i wouldnt need another racing game as i already love gt and its physics and have since i got my first one on ps1.

I think I have to agree. I'm still looking forward to this track greatly but for some reason I had it in my mind this was going to look like an open world track (Not literally an open world because I know GT doesn't do that, I just mean it wouldn't have race track features & such). Seeing all of the walls and fences and rumble strips kind of deflates my excitement just a little bit.

Man I sure wish GT could have a spin off game kind of like Test Drive Unlimited 2 sans the silly story/character stuff. Having a huge world to cruise around on with friends would just be the best thing ever!

I don't mind the unrealistic stuff too much, it kind of looks fun in an Outrun sort of way & it is in its own special event section, my only fear is this will be the only way to play the track (ie racing against clock with spaced out AI cars, not available online).

Assetto Corsa my friend. Assetto Corsa.

Google that and Traansfagaran North, and you have EXACTLY what you want! 👍

I am hearing you about this long awaited track too. Yet another fine example of how PD have now basically written the book on about how to take something that has been so hyped, and turn it into a steaming pile of dog***.

Well done PD, you've done it again.

You might wanna be careful with that, a certain someone is watching you.

So you're having a cry about one type of "event" being held on a brand new course that you have not driven yet.

How do we know that this is the ONLY layout the track will have.
Look at Nurburgring. you've got the added section for 24hr layout.

There's plenty or real estate and scope for extra sections that we have not seen yet.

and this bit of the track isnt exactly a super-highway,
with a car in the middle, you'd need to touch the white line or run the grass to get passed cleanly

Wow i must say that does look awesome and exactly the idea i had in my head of what sierra could have been, .
I have been thinking bout going gaming pc route for a while now and have been keeping and eye on ac but wasnt sure if it would have tracks like that one. Brilliant when ive had the life out of gt6 i think ac looks the next choice. I wont be getting a ps4 as i dont like the social network come spy ware devise direction the new range of consoles are going and as soon as they announced they will be charging for internet that was the end for me. I definitely wont be getting an Xbox as i refuse to give money to that human garbage that is bill gates. Maybe its time for me to grow up and join the pc bregade now minus windows. Lol.
I do love gt6 and am sure 7 will be amazing but consoles are just money grabbing the life out of the gamer now obviously i have to commend pd for bucking the trend and giving us free stuff and not doing a (get the **** out of my building) EA sports routine. although i think most of this stuff would have prob come with tha game if they waited longer before realise but that didnt work for gt5 so i can understand them wanting the game out and i have no problem waiting as it keeps the game fresher for longer.
I am looking forward to this sierra track regardless i will just have to drive it in really powerfull cars to make it a challenge although i prefer lower power cars in general.

So you're complaining about a track based on real roads? So you want to PD to make it all up?

More power to you on the rant, I for one love playing GT games and that won't change. I still play GT-GT5 when I have time, very good fun. Also just a side note dog**** is 8 letters not 7. :sly:

There's another word for **** that's only 3 letters.

I may have jumped the gun with this video, as it may not show the full track because of its format with check points.
Having said that, in my opinion the track in game doesn't look identical to real life although it is quiet close. It looks to have less corners and a smoother surface to my eyes. Although their does look to be twisties at the bottom of the gt version and more overall than i first noticed. So i agree to eat half my hat.

The part of the track through and past zahara itself looks fun in real life so hopefully it is similar. Getting excited for this again now. Anything new is brilliant really imo.

I agree with some of the things said so far in this thread. I would like more tracks without walls and rumble strips - the first because you get a better view and most roads don't have walls. Race tracks used not to have rumble strips and it would be nice to get some more old style tracks (Goodwood Revival style) and also road race style - mille miglia, Targa Florio etc.

I agree with you Sick. I think that we should have tracks without any walls so we can do a lot of things. For example: an Free Roam in London.

Its here guys its finally here, just updated havent trued it yet because i just got home from a 13 hour shift and pulling a 12 tommorow, but Im gonna try it.

Just done the first of 3 time trials on sierra.

My views on the track itself is, I'm not at all blown over by it. it has to much of a race track feel, rather then a crazy long mountain road out in the open Spanish hills. was like a Spanish Nurbergring. I was hopping it would feel good and have that amazing drivers road feel but it doesn't. felt really flat and to fast for were the track is set and not much of a challenge. did not live up to the hype PD was giving it.

doing the time trial itself, it has a ridge racer feel about it. didn't feel like i was on GT6 apart from the crazy slow AI cars and a pretty pointless.

Haven't played it yet due to work but i just watched the new gameplay videos and i must say it looks a lot better than it initially seemed on the other videos.
Cant wait to get a real spec car and have a drive round the lake. Although people are saying it seemed a bit flat it looks closer to reality than i first thought.
S2000 on comfort mediums here i come.
Now give me a couple of side roads into zahara and the other towns around the area and i will be stuck to the ps3 for weeks.

Don't mind the track, the time attack is disappointing, having to hit checkpoints, really pathetic AI and getting the feeling of driving like you stole it type Arcade race.
Nice touch with prize cars though.

Tracks pretty good for what it offers, which is fast road racing. It's a little smooth, but this is par for the course these days - but it's still about finding the limit in a lot of the sweepers anyway.

I thought the event was fun enough, something different, and the checkpoint style racing doesn't bother me too much.. it's a bit like a 12-car nav rally in that respect, which are always fun :D, the fact it's got arcadey graphics and sound effects isn't the end of the world.

I have Golded all the events at this track so can now give my opinions.

I think the graphics are a huge letdown and a step backwards.

The AI is the usual garbage PD has present us with in the rest of the game and so really sux.

Winning the 3 cars was actually a nice touch as they come modified and with all tyres.

I found it unusual that the 3 races had cars with Nitrous fitted and so had a very arcade feel to it.

Did I like it? Not really and am underwhelmed by it and PD missing another opportunity to do something quite special.

Basically playing it all I could think about is the game Need for Speed. What?! Yes you get point bonuses when your car jumps off the ground over a bump! Yeah right PD "The Real Racing Simulator"! How many rallies does that happen in?

To sum up. If you like basic arcade style games that have no bearing on reality with rubbish graphics then this is for you.
