yes there was and it was enforced. it seems to have gone by the way and some people have really offensive signatures that take up 3 posts.

Nothing happened to it, I just haven't been enforcing it. Once GTP 5 comes along, it will be strictly monitored.

When is GTP5 supposed to come out?

{Edit}: I posted this when blank posted his post, so you can disreguard this.

Effing sweet.

I really only mind meme's signature. And just about everything he attempts to type actually. No offense meme.

So, if the option to turn off selected signatures was available, I'd just turn his off.

If you begin enforcing the eight-line limit, does that mean my six-line (or five, I forgot) signature must go since on Netscape it shows up as 8+ lines?

No, it will all be with Internet Explorer in mind.

It's a bit of a hassle sometimes when trying to view post's when peoples sig's are massive..

Not a good thing when using a 56k modem

I thought there was an option to turn of sig's in post's or am i thinking of another forum

I guess i will just need to get the broadband setup :)

You can do that here. :) Click on "My GTPlanet" > "Edit Options" > and select the appropriate option for "Show user's signatures in their posts?"

Pedrodaman, I hope we :uk: >> North East and Scotland get Broadband soon..BT are taking their time  Their ads should say Fast internet, slow installation?

I fully support sig limitations, and I can't wait to see them enforced.

First off, there's no need to waste an extra square foot of screen space with every one-line or one-smilie post.

Second off, 9 times out of 10 they are full of irrelevant or redundant crap. Why post all the information every time, when you can post JUST A LINK and let interested people go see, without inconveniencing those who aren't?

Third off, the 'scroll' feature doesn't work in Netscape 6, which means that all these people with huge tickers and things (like meme) fill even more screen space with useless words.

Yes, I know I can turn off sigs. But many people have interesting or funny stuff in their small sigs, and I hate to miss those just because of some people who have to broadcast their presence through a megaphone at all times.

 BT sucks i've had nothing but bother from them

I've been thinking of getting NTL cable installed to my home ... Thinking of going for 1meg that would be awsome

A few of my friends have 512 on their computers and it's awsome for gamidge Quake 111 Muuuuaaaahhhh

But for the 1 meg it's somewhere in the region of £60 per month plus installation

I'm one of the lucky one's though NTL's coverage is pretty poor at the mo not many areas have access to it yet which is a shame

But it's available in my area so i might take the plunge £60 quids though mmmmmm

neon_duke I am sorry if you dont like my sig. But it isnt big now. Are you happy with it now?

F1: I don't mean anything personally against you. Others are just as big/bad. But below is what I see after every one of your posts. The scrolling feature doesn't work in any browser I've used, which means the whole text comes through together. Even at size 1 it's huge. That makes for a ton of wasted space, like this:

GT4!!
Very few informations have already been released about the tracks available in GT 4. Nevertheless, we will certainly see the return of the most famous circuits of the former episodes, as Deep Forest, Midfield Raceway or Autumn Ring (which reappeared in GT Concept 2002). Moreover, Polyphony Digital has revealed that at least two new tracks -one in China and the other in Hong-Kong- will be added, And others... CAR INFO!For the moment we don't know many things about car specificities in GT4. Nevertheless, we should see the return of the models of the most famous constructors of GT series (and especially Toyota). Anyway, the japanese constructors should be the most numerous of the game. Some rumors have also appeared concerning a possible collaboration between Polyphony Digital and Ferrari, And maybe Porsche and we could see some vehicles coming from Maranello..But the information needs to be officially confirmed. On the contrary, Porsche licence is still the property of Electronic Arts, We may not be able to add but maybe, and Ruf should be (once again) the only way for players to feel the taste of the Flat Six. The fourth Gran Turismo, Kazunori Yamauchi said, is due for completion in about two years, and should feature a great many features besides the oft-discussed network battle.Expanded modifications to the styling, color, and exterior of cars are to be expected, some of them possibly downloadable from Sony's broadband network, as well as much more supplemental information about each model. More ambitious courses are in planning stages as well, with the winding roads along the Mediterranean Sea being one example. Yamauchi also said he would like to include more old, classic cars, with authentic sound and handling...Test drive mode to be expected.. Kazunori Yamauchi, the Polyphony Digital president, made an appearance during the last Tokyo Amlux Auto Salon. He spoke for a long time about Gran Turismo 3 and Gran Turismo Concept ambitions, and he dropped the very first informations concerning Gran Turismo 4: 'Some improvements were made in Gran Turismo 3 but many ideas still weren't implemented. In GT4 we want to fully explore the simulation aspects of the series. A wholly revised gameplay system has been proposed including new modes of play. Network compatibility for example is a major step in development and something we're exploring. We're still interested in vehicle damage modeling, but that issue has caused some arguments with auto manufacturers. We also have to consider the limitation of the media. While many restrictions have been removed in terms of hardware, we used almost all 4.7 GB on the DVD for Gran Turismo 3.' Only a few informations... But that's enough to understand that the developpers' ambitions, and especially concerning the online game, are not fully compatible with the PS2 capacities. That's why we are not far to think that GT 4 will probably see the light of day on the future PS3, although this hypothesis is officially demented.

I used to also have a pretty annoying sig, but I got rid of most of the annoying stuff. It was soooo annoying that it even started to tick me off.

Neon, how did you tolerate that without losing it??

Well, that's why I've come here to do my share of complaining. Like I said, I try to keep sigs on, because most aren't like that.

I use my Ignore list for some of the people with huge sigs. I don't like to do that, either, because I don't like to reject anybody completely out of hand. But after a while, it gets tough. At least with the Ignore function, it puts a placeholder for those people's posts, and I can choose whether to read them or not.
