I'm not sure, but tonight, I tried to change my signature, and when I entered just SIZE="2" Viscous Traction /SIZE (With the brackets), I get an error saying....

BB code size value is too big.

I know we can only have 6 lines maximum, but are we no longer allowed bigger font sizes?

When the latest update of GTPlanet was rolled out last month, Jordan implemented new signature limitations, designed to improve the overall look of the forums - as he pointed out in the GTPlanet News forum, existing signatures would not be changed, but the limitations would apply whenever the signature was updated next.

so that means if you've got large text in your sig, and you make it small it stays small? and you can't make it big again?

Yes - it also means that the next time you edit your signature (or try to 'Save Signature') all the new limitations will apply...

I don't know, these people who insist on using large type in their signatures!

Ah ok. Kind of sucks since my signature can't get at least 1 font size bigger.

But I'm curious. Why have the Font Size tags still available if none of them will be allowed?

If you don't add any size tags at all, it'll still stay at size 2.

To clear things up for you, font size tags are still allowed because you can make the text smaller (size 1), but not any larger than the default. Also, Duck is actually incorrect in saying that size 2 is the default. The "default" signature size cannot be attained using any bb code tags. Size 2 is the default size for post text.

I can't add a signature!

No error message or such, I simply just can't see the signature in my posts! Why?

EDIT: oh! now it works :)

@ Putte Tutte - i think (not only on this board, so it must be v-bulletin) that when a new member first adds their signature, it doesn't appear until their next post

Juts an update, sorry for bringing this thread back from the dead, but Ive only just wanted to update my signature, but with the new ristrictions im unable to add this. (without the arrows :D )

Just a thought but wouldn't it be nice if premium members has some of the restriction lifted as most of us a responsible with our accounts, and those who go absolutely mental could have a warning.

edit

so my signature looks like this.

I don't think Jordan can apply forum-embedded signature restrictions only to certain member groups. Sounds like an unlikely thing anyways.

Actually, I can, but I want the signature rules applied across the board (no pun intended). Sprite, you should be able to format your signature like that in your image although without the increased font size and center alignment.

Are you kidding me? Everyone would sign up just for center alignment. And with all the money you'd make, you could buy golden spinners for your G35.

No problem, was just a thought. Any how I've changed the sig as suggested and its not bad I just wish it could have been centre aligned.

Hey, Duck broke that rule first! :p

Sharky, please hand in your keys to the washroom, your badge, and your gun.
I have a gun? Cool! Bang, you're dead! :D

On topic: You "could" (read: not guaranteed to work) sort of have your sig centered if you put lots of _ or . at the start and make them the same colour as the post background. But then it would only be centered on screen resolutions the same as your own.

so can i still not change my sig? i made one now i want to change it but the sig section doesnt have an edit icon to click on help??

Click the My GTPlanet link at top right corner, near you user name and then click Edit Signature.

A rather obvious obvservation, but Famine's Signature appears to have a quote in it. Please tell me how this is possible!

It's Famine. Do you require more of an explanation?

From this I can conclude that adding quotes to Signatures is exclusive to
  1. Moderators/Administrators
  2. Premium Members(?)

Or the fact that if you haven't edited your sig since the ban on quotes in signatures came in, you get to keep the quote.

I choose

3: Had the quote before the restriction was applied. Since the forum software isn't retroactive the quote stays in the signature until the person changes it.

This is also why some people have their sig in the middle.

You missed the 3rd attribute to Famine, he's been here a loooong time! :D

I'm pretty sure that sig with a quote in is new.

But famine is this forums version of chuck Norris so anything is possible. He will roundhouse kick you into next week with his banhammer. ;)
