Why do you think so many people were online on GTPlanet that day?

Oh, I remember reading that thread back in December when I signed up for GTPlanet. It was a great read. :)

I think this question is asked regularly, like every couple of months a new thread appears. Maybe there should be a sticky! :)

It's the first time I've seen it asked, and I've been here since 2004.

These threads get deleted, someone asked about this only a couple of months ago. I remember because I also replied in it! Even Jordan posted in that one explaining why it didn't bring down the site because they were all visiting the same page.

It wouldn't have been deleted as we don't delete threads without good reason.

EDIT: I presume you mean this thread?

That was one of them, but there were a few others I remember before that because its a question which has come up from time to time. Maybe it was asked in other threads not in this part of the site. As for thread deletion there have been some which have been removed after an issue has been resolved.

Don't think so. If there is nothing wrong with a thread, it will not be deleted. Threads that resolve an issue will be left as others may have the same issue and may need to refer to the thread.

The issue may be that, in the display options at the bottom of the help desk forum, it will only display threads for a year. The older threads are still there, they just won't be displayed until you change the option, or search for them.

Yeah, that might be why.
