to get things rolling...

how do you guys usually tune a silvia?

i usually put in the most power i can and slap on a 2-way lsd, N3 tires, and every other upgrade. then lower it, increase the spring rate, and maybe tweek the other stuff. i usually keep every suspension setting even on the front and rear (for example: spring rate at 12.0 front and rear) except for camber which i leave at 2 in front and 1 in rear usually.

and...

what are you top 3 silvias?

mine are (1) 240sx (2) spec r S15 (3) '91 S13

i love the SilEighty and S15
under 300 hp
ride hight from 15-20 away from lowest
11-12 kg spring front, 6-9 kg rear
around 3.3-3.6 camber front 1-1.6 rear
stabs 1
dont mess with toe too much
all on N2's
and i always put chassis restore, then a cage on my drifters.

well i drift a 240sx and i like mine with around 250 to 300hp just enought to kick up enough smoke and get me around a big turn, i love my 240, just wish i could rice it up a little bit to look like those ones in d1 and formula d,
but i use the setting from the drift depot except my brake balance is diffrent from the one posted their

i actually used the given settings in the drift settings depot, I just added the stage 1 turbo instead of the stage 2. I got stage 2, used it for awhile, but because the car became so light, it was kinda overpowered, so i just use stage 1 and it has about 280 hp. im a wuss when it comes to power-over drifting, and i'm an e-brake/feint drift kinda guy so...it usually depends on your idea of the perfect drift car, but i'd say silvias dont take as much crazy tuning as say, a Suzuki Cappuciano. what do you guys think?
favorite silvias(in order):

1. 240sx hatch
2. Silvia Q's Aero 93'
3. Custom SILEighty(if this counts)

hmm sileghty and s14 200 sx (s14) are all superb drift cars. I usaly have a few power upgrades and leave everything else stock

yeah the S14 is good, but I've always liked the classic look of the '93 aeros.
what about the '88, '89 silvias?
i like the Q's, only because it takes a little more tuning to make it work. plus, it comes in flat black without the wing.
w00t!

Stock '96 240SX w/ ~275hp on N1s, lightened '96 240SX hatchback w/~250hp on N1s, stock S15...whatever one has the most horsepower, I forget what it is, on N1s.

that super old silvia convertible from the 60's. mine is red.

whats better for rps13, N1's, N2's, or N3's..?
that all depends on your style and likes
i usually use N2 for everything. N1 for AWD and N3 for anything i wanna try to drift with.
all being stock too.
its hard drifting a S14 on N3's but it can be done.

its not hard, you just need to have a turbo, lower the car, and stiffen the springs which is how i said i tune silvias.

i find it more fun to drift with 400+ hp and have N3s on. you can go faster through the turns with good angle.

if you use N1s, you have to tune the suspension in a way to prevent the back end from sliding out too much. its better, i think, to put on N3s and tune it to slide out just right.

EDIT: N1s are probably best for AWD cars

when i use N2's on every car except the Skyline GT-R R32, for that I use N1's.
hey, today instead of gt mode, I did only arcade mode and drifted Levin, R33, 180sx, MR-S and s2000 spec-v all stock N2's no aids.
funnest thing ever.
then some friends came over and we did that until 4 pm.
now theyre playing katamari damacy while i do this...

I dont know if its just me or what, but I have never seen anyone drift with the setup I use.
spring rate:13.0 / 15.0
ride hight: 94 / 94
shock absorbers: 8 / 9
Camber: 2.3 / 3.0
sway bars: 6 / 6

On a 91 silvia K's (s13) with sports hard tires on the back, and sports soft on front.
with 280ish horsepower.
Anyone use this sort of setup?

I make mine LOW! LOW! LOW!
With an extremely soft suspension
lots of camber
more toe in the rear, less in the front
.... I'm sure theres more but I can't remember! :sly: :D:tup:

I usually drift my low-powered silvias with N1s, and things that are a little faster with N2s just so the'll actually pick up speed instead of burning off their tires :)
