I have decided to change my name... It is something I have been wanting to do for a long time, but did not have the option to do anything about, before now... So, I would just like to introduce the new name, so nobody get's confused... I am still SD, but with a shiny new name...

Say goodbye to SD and hello to DR...

To break the ice here is the first in a series of instructional AWD excersizes... As it is the first, it is very basic... Keep in mind that this is mostly for those who have trouble drifting AWD's... I have included multiple camera angles so it will be eay for anyone to follow, no matter your in-game view preference...

AWD Excersise: Week 1 (left click)

AWD Excersise: Week 2 (left click)

AWD Excersise: Week 3 (left click)

Enjoy, and if anyone has any questions, send me a PM and I will do what i can to help...

i like how you set up feint 100 meter's before the turn.

Thankyou... However, I purposely toned down the drift a bit, so it would be easier for most to follow...

I like to start my drifts as early as possible, so as to extend the time in the drift...

Hmmm how did you change ur name..i wanted mine to BE nk4e but oh well TT_TT

I will participate in that exercise when i have a chance when im done with my work
He's a moderator that's why.

very nice its very interisting 👍 but I have to ask you one question, why are you center the wheel, it is to give you more smoke (in the front tires)?

cool. glad to see you've made the change.

It is the basics of AWD drifting... You do not need to use the steering to control an AWD in a drift... However, in later excersises I will get into the application of countersteering in AWD situations... This being the first excersise, I wanted to cover just the basics, and expand from there...

How could you cahnge your name if you are not Premium Member?

Echo, Echo, Echo :)

As stated earlier in the thread. DR is a moderater of the GT3 drifting forum.

Wicked little Vid on the WRX STI, the final corner where you drift for about 15 seconds, its enough to send chills up the spine !

yes I know that I Dont need to use the steering so I say that because I think that a drift with countersteering is more beautyfull but I understand with your answer.
thanx

The 240 is coming along nicely... My drifting skills are also coming along nicely... Who'd of thought you can pull clean smooth drifts with a stock 240SX?.. No LSD, no suspension, just nice brakes, and an Injen intake... It amazes me how much performance can be had from this car... When I want it to grip, it grips hard (thanks to fully independent suspension), yet when I want it to drift, it's graceful and relatively easy to control... It's supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow, so I will be going to my favorite back lot to practice... I'm glad I live in a location that gets a lot of rainfall (Seattle area)... I'm quite poor so I cannot afford to buy new tires... The rain is my only option at the moment...

Anyway, that's all for now...

ohh sweet! are you going to get vids of this?

If I can get someone to go with me... I usually go alone... However, I'm trying to find someone with big enough huevos to get good shots of me drifting... It's a process...

It's just the basic first excersise... The next one also deals with "zero counter", but with linking... Then the following get's into the application of countersteer... Then I will be getting into FR, FF, MR, Mid/AWD, and RR, in that order... I will create 3 excersises for each, before moving on. However, I will then return to those and expand upon them in due sequence...

For the most part, I agree with you... Countersteering does indeed add something aesthetic to a drift... However, the "zero counter" drift is also very beautiful to me, but for different reasons... It's a different experience, and is the basis for drifting any AWD... To master AWD one must master the basic techniques to build a strong foundation that you can then build upon...

you are 100% right, 240 coupes are great stock, at drift meeting's people compliment me on my drifting but they always ask, "you have an LSD, or some thing" nope bone stock. it's a perfect platform for drifting. you don't need a SR20DET swap or a cusco lsd or tanabe coil over's. your also correct when you said " when i want it to grip it grips, when i want it to drift, it drifts"

alot of the drift events i go to, most of the people with flashy paint job's, all them sticker's, $2,500.00 volk or work wheel's, can't drift worth a crap. it's all about image to those guy's so people think thier drifter's. the guy's with the most beat up , run down lookin 86's and 240's are doing the most insane drift's and do'n it 'cause it's what they love. they love the "feel" of drifting, and they can don't give a sh@t what people think. like me.
