Sim racing loadcell

Forgive me if this had already been covered!

So I’ve been using my t3pa’s with the conical break mod, I’ve recently upgraded to the pros with the simracing loadcell break mod and I have to say I’m pretty disappointed with it.
To me it just feels the same as the conical mod!
Am I missing something here or what!!?

When I first tried a load cell in a set of Fanatec CSR Elite pedals, I found it to be remarkabley similar to the NIXIM V2 Brake mod I had in my G25. There was a slight difference, but nowhere near as much as I previously assumed there would be. I'm happy with the stock spring & rubber stopper in the G29 pedals now as well, not much difference between that & the NIXIM in my G25 pedals.

It will feel similar to the conical but should be allowing you to be more accurate with your braking.

The mod for the T3PA Pro... isn't it just rubber, no spring? Not sure how that feels just like the conical mod, but I've never tried it - do you still use the spring with the conical mod?

A load cell setup can feel the same as the conical mod, or not, depending on how it's set up, but in any case it gives an input to the game proportional to the pressure you apply. It will do that regardless of what combination of springs and rubbers you might choose to use.

The only case where pot-based pedals do the same is with a simple linear spring (within its range of compression). With the conical mod and pots, the in-game brake is still based on position. That isn't to say you don't get used to it, and it can be useful as a reference point for your braking - subconciously, you get to know that when you start to feel the buffer you're at 66% braking or whatever, so you might get more reliable at hitting braking levels just beyond that (or bounce off it for slightly less).

(The G29 has a some internal remapping to compensate for its rubber bung, but it's not very accurate - being a single fixed calibration it's very dependant on the resistance of the pot, which has a wide tolerance).

Yes it’s just the rubber conical mod that comes with the t3pa and the pros.
I’m slowly getting used to the load cell to be fair, I’ve set it the rubber so it’s just touching the back of the break pedal although there’s not much travel on it.
I just need to mess around with it. I’ve also got the BBJ spring mod for the accelerator pedal which is very stiff although I’ve taken 2 of the rubber packers out to make it easier to press.

I got the GTeye springs also years ago. I wasn't that impressed ( ) with it. The rubber endstop got removed the same day. The spring for the cluths with the part where the winding halfway were more compressed, did not make sense to me. The spring constant remains the same, regardless of the windings being more close to each other. I do like the stiff brake spring.

That being said, I am still in doubt if I should order the brake performance kit along with the Fanatec v3 pedals.

Before I got my CSR Elite pedals, I used the BRD Speed 7 pedals and the difference was in the possibilities of control. Muscle pressure memory is superior to movement memory.
I would go for the brake performance kit.(There is 8 years between those pictures.)

I think I will go for the extra 30 Euro. If they get back in stock that is.
