Just some fun reference material

That is exactly what I was talking about. 👍

That's the experience I had sitting in a D-Box unit.

Halleluja, I'm converted! (/end joke]

No, really, I am. I really thought that I was right and now I know that I wasn't! Shows how stupid I really am.

I always thought that when 10 people are discussing something, and only one person contradict the other 9, this person is probably wrong. (don't start a discussion about this please). I was that person but now I'm one of the other 10.

Thanks to all of you and especially Delphic Reason for making me realize that I was wrong.

I imagined you would come around eventually, given enough facts. Glad to be of service. 👍

Hi there all.
I have been reading in depth as to what true motion is from a car to a motion sim. I have done some club day racing in my time with an old 1979 Mazda RX7. Not the fastest thing , but a good run.
That was years ago, now a young family takes up the money. These days I have a motion simulator that I home built. I found the info on another forum as well as the freeware software to run it.
I have built two 2 DOF simulators, a "joyrider" style and a frex style with windscreen wiper motors as the movement generator.

Both give slightly different motion. My main ride is the frex with a monitor stand as it is more compact.

Bang for buck is cheap. The main cost was control boards, power supplies, rod ends, etc. I already had the wheel and pedals, and surround sound speakers. The steel, plywood, and other bits I found and or had donated along the way. So $350 for electronics.
I could build one from new for about $1000.
No it is not the same motion as a motor car, but once playing, you get lost in the game play and you feel motion "something" like a car.
