It's $0.60, so 600cr. 949bhp, 678 'torque' (which metric do they use?), five gears, 210mph, 3.2 sec 0-60. I think I'll pass for now, these aren't made to actually go around corners so I don't really see the point, though I do like what they're trying to do. Maybe this means we'll see some licensed Japanese tuner cars like this:

I just got the Hotrod, at 600 credits it seemed rude not to. Well the car is a complete animal, they did a good job on it and it handles roughly as you would expect (which means its not exactly a machine designed for racing around corners), it has so much power its still wheel spinning up to 4th gear and the torque steer under acceleration is madness.

Awesome though I love it, really well modelled on the visual side too.

I've got an itch. I bought the XFR (today's TDT, $0.41) and now I want to buy a few more things... I'm thinking of adding $5 to my remaining $2.50 so I can buy the M1B, Morgan, F3.5 and E Type. Any thoughts on these? I know I should wait for the TDT, but $5 isn't much.

They hinted the Mclaren F1 LM may be on TDT pretty soon, from what I saw in the "TDT wishlist" thread. So I'd hold your cash for a bit if that interests you!

M1B : Feels almost like and understeering version of M6GT. Probably fixable with a setup if you're good with that, if you dont have the M6GT I personally would get that first, that said I do like both.

E Type : Mixed bag of fish, the first time I drove this I absolutely loved it, but the last time I drove it seemed like it was just tank slapping with nasty violent FFB in every heavy braking zone. Maybe it was me, maybe it was the track or maybe they changed something. I haven't driven it for a while so maybe I should.

Formula 3.5 this car is amazing, a poor mans F1 car but it moves around a bit more than an F1 car, it's awesome to be honest, easy to drive.

Seeing as neither of you commented on the Morgan I tried that first (oh, I bought all four, by the way, as well as the MX-5 and RX-8 (with credits)), it's awesome. You can get it very sideways in a controllable way in 2nd gear. I haven't tried any of the others yet but will hopefully be able to tonight. Thanks for the reviews by the way.

I can't comment on the cars I don't have.

I only decided on the F3.5 yesterday after I noticed a packed quick race at Zandvoort with it. Didn't get a clean race in with it. Got punted in one race by a guy, who, before the race started, apologized in advance for any contact. :ouch:

Ha ha, I meant it seems as though neither of you have it, so I thought I'd try it out so I could let you know how it is. I'll see about uploading a video of it later if either of you are interested? If not I won't bother because my upload speed is terrible!

Had my first couple productive hours with this game a couple days ago. Was pretty fun. 👍

Chat support still can't figure out why I can't do Quick Race, but something must be working correctly in the networking area, because I was able to race a couple guys in the Beetle @ Lime Rock challenge event.

Next time I'll try hooking up the DFGT. :)

You definitely have to do that, it's a completely different game with a wheel (same goes for all simulators). How's the Beetle, by the way?

So today I decided to grind the Indy event which is ending tonight, eight hours from now in fact, and earned enough to go from 75 credits to 680, buying the MX-5, RX-7 and RX-8 along the way (so that's whatever 250 + 270 + 330 + 680 - 75 is). Of course this means I've got a decision to make, which <600cr car do I spend those credits on? Not much point saving because apart from the R8GT and XKR-S the next cheapest car that I actually want is the M6GT Bruce McLaren which is 2530cr and I don't have the patience for that yet, I'm too tempted by cheaper street cars. I'm thinking it'll be the Renault 5 Turbo or 1750 GT and Mini Coupe, but I just can't decide.

The R5 Turbo is a lot of fun imho.

Bought it! You're not wrong, it's great fun. Handles exactly as you'd expect it to. I went and did the Indy event for the last time for a quick 200cr and bought the Mini Cooper S Works Coupe as well, that's pretty much the same story; fun and handles as you'd expect.

Edit: Today shall be forever known as "Carmageddon", I've bought 11 cars with real money and I think five with credits today alone... Luckily the only things left that I want are either cheap enough to earn really quickly or too expensive for me to want to pay for.

The real money ones:
Jaguar XFR
Morgan Plus 4 Super Sport
Formula Renault 3.5
Jaguar E-Type
McLaren M1B
McLaren MP4-12C
McLaren M6GT Bruce McLaren
Audi R8 GT
Jaguar XKR-S
Renault Alpine A110
1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302

The fake money ones:
Mazda MX-5
Mazda RX-7
Mazda RX-8
Renault 5 Turbo
Mini Cooper S Works Coupe.

I think I need help!

Heh, nice.
I just spent all my 1540 credits on a single car, the Formula Renault 3.5.
It's even better than I expected, great fun on Zandvoort!

Hey neema, do you like the Mini Cooper? I've been thinking about buying it, but I'm not sure if I want to yet.

I do, but I've only done two laps of Longstone in it so far so I can't really judge it just yet. I'd say the Asphalt Modified is a better use of credits/dollars if you don't have it yet though, simply because a lot of people have it so it's more likely that there will be quick races and events for it.

It's a fun drive on the DS3 on this track. Drives about how I would expect a FF to, and sounds better than I would think it does in real life. Fun to chuck it into the high-speed corners of Lime Rock. 👍

I got the Asphalt Modified with my accumulated credits last night and it's a handful with the on/off throttle I had mapped on the DS3. But I was expecting that.

I thought I had a breakthrough with my Quick Race problems last night:

SRW_Chat: This might sound weird, but does your password have a special character in it? Our QR server has a problem with those.
Me: Why, yes it does, I'll go change it!

Short-story, it didn't fix it. It's a work-admin'd laptop, so could have some port blocking going on that I can't change, or even see (I think). So I'm going to try my other old computer (where I have admin priv's) first before bothering them more.

New car got added :

It's free to drive for today, $0.61 or 610credits to add to your garage. Haven't had the chance to try it myself yet.

The IS-F is good. It feels very heavy, as it probably should be, and for some reason no one knows how to use the brakes with it. :ouch:

Standard behaviour really, like the guy who complained that the XFR 'stops like a truck' and is 'typical Brit crap' because 'it's not even a sports car'... No, surely not?! There are plenty of SRW players who just can't seem to adjust to a car's weight and power! I wonder if the IS-F is priced wrong though, when I looked earlier it had $0.61 crossed out and $0.61 as the reduced price. So is it $1.22 or was it supposed to be $0.31? I'm guessing the former. Either way I'm not too bothered about it so I'll probably buy it with credits.

It's not meant to be like Test Drive Tuesday where you can get the car for half-price, more just a way to get users to be able to try the newest car in the sim for a day and possibly get some more sales if a lot of players like the car.

Yeah, but when I looked there was a price crossed out and the same price next to it which implied there was supposed to be a discount but it wasn't showing properly. To be fair I did check about five minutes after the email went out, last time I did that I got one of the older McLaren F1 cars for $0.00 because of a pricing mistake!

The car is great, nice, smooth oversteer behaviour.
I'm 6th atm in the HotLap event with it, not bad for driving with a DS3 I think.

Anyone who's tried this with a DFGT: I only tried once so far, for about 20min, but was immediately surprised by how different it feels compared to GT5. It was a bit weak and sloshy. I tried playing with the Force Feedback and Sensitivity in the game menus but they didn't seem to make much difference.

Any tricks/tips appreciated. Regardless, I'll try it again soon and see if maybe 20min just wasn't enough time to get used to it.
