Thanks for verifying my laps Hekke 👍 ...
Anytime, Ron.
Mr P - TT8 - green ticked... awesome
Seen a few 58.3xx T2´s myself but don´t fancy the GT4-rally-physics much :ouch:
Someday perhaps - until then :scared: 👍

Mr P - TT5 - green ticked also 👍
If memory serves me correctly I believe I tend to shift a little earlier than you, Ron.. going from second to third... this car has some tremendous torque.

...btw I just grabbed your new TT4 Hekke and will view it asap! awesome time btw
👍 👍

As for Kent.... anyone who takes on the Nürb deserves a big round of applaus   .... Way too long a track for my taste.

Thanks again Hekke  You have been a great help today ... much appreciated ;)
I am just waiting for Kel to finish with the TV and I will verify your TT4 and I think everything will be totally upto date then :)

Cheers

Take all the time you need, Ron.... no need to rush.
Glad I could help 👍

Edit:
Bit more work, Ron :guilty:

Welcome to the TT´s, GTXDriver 👍
Took the liberty of downloading and checking your replay - nice lap 👍
However, the rules here state that you are not allowed to go beyond the rumble-strips with more than two wheels...
I believe Ron will fill you in or you could download one of the verified replays to get an idea :sly:

Cheers, Hekke.

Thank you very much,guys.
First of all:I didn't know that this concrete area in the tunnel is invalid, sorry, that was my fault.
I will download these replays to see what parts of the tracks can be used.👍

P.S.:I worked on my TT1 yesterday.
The splits were:
T1 23.881
T2 47.024
and then I missed the line just before the tunnel...:ouch:
So I almost had it...:dopey:
It looked that I could break into the 1'16.2xx's but noooo. Not yet.
I'll be back soon with some valid replays I hope.

Lap looked great to me. 👍
Also seemed like a perfect response to all of the "Forza vs GT4" youtube videos where they focus on the in-game sound... That video had great sound and definately seemed like a show-piece for GT4. 👍

Made me want to start working on TTs other than TT10. :D
Gonna get a few more attempts at matching my sub-7 minute time and then it's off to Laguna.

Edit:
Well, my first complete lap was 6'59.9... Then I followed it with an awesome lap... At T10 I was 2.4 seconds ahead of the 6'59.9... Ruined the lap coming off the final straight. :banghead:
None the less I stuck with it and came up with this...
6'58.984
Can anyone confirm that the attached replay is the proper replay (I have a hard time keeping my replay organized :dunce: ).

Thanks for the help confirming the replay... Likewise, Ron, if you create a video of this I'd like to thank you in advance. Thanks Ron!

Btw, this is a NTSC North American maxdrive save!

I just verified Hekke's new TT4 and TT5 and bothe are totally clean and great laps .. I just grabbed Kents Nurb lap ( checked with Jerry's replay manager and its definitely a Nurb lap 👍 ) and will verify and convert it to video 👍 I might have to still make video's of your TT4 and TT5 hekke unless you can upload them to youtube for me as youtube seems to be the best for embedded replays on the Leaderboard post 👍 Great work with them btw  ... Excellent laptimes guys you two are scorching fast :tup

Will update the Leaderboard as soon as I have done Kents video 👍
Cheers
Ron.

Sounds awesome Ron, and of course, thanks!

On that note though, I know the replay is a Ring lap but I suggest taking a look at the time to make sure it is the proper lap... I had 3 different Ring laps in the same color of car and it made it difficult to figure out which was the fastest. :ouch:

So check the file's listed time to make sure it is the correct one... If not I will post up the others (as one is garunteed to be the correct lap).

Thanks again!

Kent, if you start up your PS2 without a disc, you'll enter the PS2 browser and then you can view the data on your MC. You’ll find all data in chronological order, starting with the latest save (when you don’t want to upload one of your latest replays, you can first launch GT4, go to the replay theater and search for the date and time you created the replay that you want to upload). If you select a replay, you can see it’s got a name (something like “lap record nr. 42”) and you'll find the date and time it was created. If you then launch the MaxDrive disc, you can find the correct replay by searching for “lap record nr. 42” in the list of replays. This way you can always make sure you uploaded the right replay 👍

Well I tried last night and again today with 2 different downloads to be sure and I can say for sure that my maxdrive wont read Kents replay file at all? I waited in the read USB contents page for ages and nothing loads .. and also the same as a few months ago if I have other replays on the USB drive at the same time as Kents replay file then none of them will show up! I go and delete Kents file off the USB drive and the others show up just fine  This is pretty confusing anyway and wish I knew what was going wrong ... I can download and transfer other NTSC replays with no problems but this sucka is being a bitch :sly: Sorry about this Kent but it's not through lack of trying mate ;)

Anyone else with NTSC and a maxdrive willing to try and view this to see if its a corrupt file or if the trouble is at my end? even just to watch the lap and vouch for it then I can green tick it would be ideal 👍
Cheers
Ron.

Thanks for the advice Hugo.
Also, sorry about the trouble Ron. :ouch:
I can say with confidence there is nothing wrong with that replay but I'm interested to see what happens with everyone else.

Also, when I load my maxdrive and files don't read at first, I just back out of that screen and then go back into it... Sorta like reloading a webpage only with the maxdrive's final replay file display screen.

In any case, I'm not too worried about the replay for video or anything like that so it's not a big deal. I'd like to see the replay get verified eventually but even that isn't too much a big deal for me. :indiff:

Thanks again for the effort Ron. I know it's frustrating to deal with this and when it happens twice I'm sure you get twice as angry.
Sorry again, I'm sure this will work out eventually.

On that note, this might be a good time to finally ask something of all those people with "RSR" in their signatures... Verify a lap for me!

I just checked your replay at the ring Kent 👍 Some very nice driving for sure, looks like you kept full attention the whole way, something I will never do there as I have a.d.d. anyway.....

it is a 7.00.249 so, not the one you wanted :(

one close call after t2 on the uphill, not sure of the cobble stone ruling but here is a pic

Img0000-5.jpg

I think that would count as clean, according to the simplified law: "Always less than 2 wheels on grass" which was applied at all Nurb' OLRs...

Thanks for checking it out Erik  must be a problem at my end for some reason :dunce:

I knew we had crossed this subject before earlier in the comps life and I forgot to add it to the TT10 rules :) so I just pasted the post ..

I hope everyone can stay within the boundaries as stated in the first post! the concrete behind the rumble strips is classed as illegal in this comp and if they do run on the concrete they must still have 2 wheels on the rumbles at the same time to be valid ... the same goes for the tar behind the white lines! 2 wheels must be on the white line when using this wide berth also ;) 3 or more wheels behind the rumbles or white lines makes that said run invalid 👍

I will add an exception for the Nurb and as long as no wall hits or 3 or more wheels on grass or dirt the run will be valid

I hope everyone is ok with this :)
Cheers
Ron.

Nurb is the only track in these TT's where the rules are relaxed slightly ;)

Thanks again for checking Erik .. now we just need Kent to post the 6'58 and we can get him his long awaited green tick 👍
Cheers
Ron.

I am absolutely sure this replay is the 6'58.934 (I've deleted every file of the 6'58.2 that was corrupt).
Clean, checked it again today to be safe.
No 3rd wheel on brick or anything of the sort. Using traditional OLR standards this lap is clean.

Feel free to check it out but I am confident I've got it right this time.

Also, when it comes to getting the maxdrive to read right Ron...
I've found that once I go to the "primary device" selection screen and then to the screen where files are shown, if the files do not show up, back out to the main memory manager screen (the one right before the primary device screen). Once I go back to the main menu of the memory manager screen I select my primary device again and then usually on that second try the files come up properly.

If you have a problem with this replay give that a try... I find it's like the net and sometimes you've just got to reload a page for it to work right. 👍

Good luck, thanks for everyone's help and patience!

It's not a problem Kent and the only frustrating part is not being able to watch your lap and make the video tbh 👍 I've grabbed your latest file and will try again as I'm a persistant bastard for sure :sly: will try your suggestions also 👍

If this one works expect a video asap ... probably sometime tomorrow ;)

Cheers
Ron.

Sounds awesome. 👍
I think this replay will work for you, especially if you try to back out of the menu and go back in again should your card's files not show on the initial attempt.

Hopefully all goes well. None the less, thanks again.
(hope to see a good result, it would be an honor to have a video listed :O )

Finally I had the chance to view and record Kents TT10 replay  👍
A very smooth yet fast and controlled 100% clean lap Kent! .. Nice work

I'm envious of your patience to persist with its multitude of bends where it can all end it in a blink of an eye :indiff: .. Top marks on a very sweet lap matey 👍

I uploaded your video with a soundtrack ( to fit the Nurb in length! .. I hope you like it? ) to the Leaderboard and also gave you your long awaited green tick :) 👍 way to go mate! .. feel free to run any of the other tests whilst you wait for TT10 again to defend your 1st place ;) 👍
Cheers
Ron.

* Be warned anyone with a non DSL connection that Kents replay is 55mb in size and will need to be buffered before viewing * 👍

Cool, glad to see the replay worked Kent 👍 I won't watch the vid(48.8kb for me haha) or dl the new lap replay as the last one was impressive enough for me :) Nice driving.

Awesome!
Thanks for the work Ron.
Thanks for the kind words all.
Video is great and music is perfectly fitting.

Now, with that done with... Time for Laguna and the others. :D
What's great about moving onto the others is that everyone will get to see just how bad I am on most of the other tracks. :ouch:

Also, about the patience to complete the lap...
It is rough and on that particular lap I lost about 1 full second coming off the final straight simply so I could ensure a clean lap. :sly:

Again though... Thanks everyone (especially you Ron because I know this has been trouble for you).
(just having the word corrupt used in relation to replays and memory cards is enough to keep people from ever touching a file :scared: ).

Sweet lap Kent very nice the way you handled that ruf car 👍
Wish I had the patience to do some more laps there, but even so I woudn't be able to come close to that sort of time!!

Nice vid and soundtrack too :)

Hey there Mr. P:)

I've gotten a chance to get back to this....This is a clean run per your TT curb rules. I'm going to try to improve it over the next few days....if I can't, I'll upload the replay for this run. ASAP:tup:

Deep Forest TT4
Nissan Skyline GT-R V-spec II '00
T1=27.046
T2=57.961
Lap=1:21.749

Now, I'll take another swing at that Nurburgring TT....

Edit::dunce:
Sorry, I forgot to say this is for TT4 earlier

You know... (end of the night rant)
It's odd to me... So many people can't stand the Ring or don't race it quickly. For me it's very different. I love racing the Ring (until recently GT4 seemed as close as I would ever be to racing on it). On top of that, I find it to be not too difficult to complete a lap. Rather, I find that if I make it past T3 and then T6 I've pretty much got a keeper of a lap.

Of course, I don't always manage that and re-starts are a common thing. None the less, I love racing the Ring and it always amazes me that it is such a difficult track (it's difficult for me as well, don't get me wrong).

On a different note, I've been running Laguna Seca just as I said I would and guess what, I suck. My best lap has only reached into the 1'26 range and my starting lap was well over 1'30 (exact time with-held for reasons of pride). :ouch:

Once I've got an acceptable lap I will surely post it. Until then I just want to re-iterate that I am deeply indebted to Ron for his/your awesome work with this thread and more specifically, for your patience with my Ring lap. The corrupt data and constant struggle to go under 7 minutes was rough on me but for you/Ron it must've been seriously annoying. :yuck:

On that note, Kelly, thanks for the kind words.
Thanks again to all of you who have been patient and kind about my troubles with a clean, acceptable lap.

Until next time,
Kent

Odd, because I consider the twisties in the end far, far tougher than the first half - that's where I usually loose my laps - either through running wide, or loosing the time.

I know that OLR requires this ungodly obsession with "perfect error free laps".....that's just the nature of the beast. But, in some 'alternate dimension' (like the real world) things would be so much more fun if mistakes were part of the game.

That said....I think the knock on Nurburgring for me is just "time". I love the track and it's the closest thing to a good old-fashioned road race through the countryside.

A hard all-out drive through the hills in a hot car, without the penalty or pressure of needing a "perfect error free lap", would be fun. Mistakes and recovery are part of the fun. When you blow a turn in real life, you don't go back to the beginning and start all over again....you keep pushing....you just try to go quicker and faster the next lap.

It's the burden of the OLR "perfect lap" that spoils it for me.....because it means 7 more minutes chasing perfection.....then 7 more, then 7 more.....

My brother and I were able to 'link' race a few weeks ago and run each other heads-up doing 8 lap sprints at the 'Ring' .....man, there's the real fun! 👍

Sitting at home with a broken left arm... nothing much I´m able to do atm. except taking some of the cars out for spin to see if I could pick up some time here and there.... which btw, I was able to do ;)

TT4: 26.399 // 56.630 // 1'19.800
