I mean isn't it misleading or even false advertising? If you go to GT's website you will never see photos of them and even on this website every banner selling GT has beautiful renders of premium cars, which of course are in the game but they are the minority.

Shouldn't we get banners with one of these cars as well? What do you think?

That ship sailed with GT5's "Every piece of advertising except two interview questions and a carefully edited 30 second video is Premium cars on Premium tracks" prerelease hype.

They do let you know that standards are in the game so why should they show the cars?
It's like relationships you know...

People can always tell you how rough they are, and how many problems you'll go through, but you don't take the words seriously, but then you see it happening to your friends, or even worse, you see it happening to yourself, and it's too late already.

Where I'm trying to get is that PD can say "oh hey there are standard quality cars in the game", but for someone new to the game, they might think "hmm that can be so bad", so they go and buy the game, and see a hella pixelated alto works...

I support OP idea, but at the same I know this would never happen because marketing doesn't work like that, the product needs to be sold, and in order to be sold it needs to look attractive to the buyers, I'm sorry but this is how the world works now days.

Really? Can you point to the place on the game box where it says "standard cars are in the game"? Can you show me where the standard section is in each dealership, or where there's a tag on each car in the dealerships that says, "this car is a standard"?

you guys are being deliberately obtuse

we know PD has bad sound, bad standard models and a poor "chase the rabbit" racing model

live with it

or dont

theres only 2 plates on the table, forza or gt6

i appreciate the snarkiness, i really do but i'm guessing many dont

Officially there is not one mention of standard cars. If you go to GT6's website and select cars you find this http://www.gran-turismo.com/gb/products/gt6/cars/#new

A unique level of realism
that develops in parallel with real life cars

In recent years, CAD data of actual cars are often provided to Gran Turismo thanks to our strong partnerships with automotive manufacturers and as a consequence, the time to understand the design of the car has been drastically reduced. The same cannot be said for the development time: a model will still take 6 months to create, and that is because the time and costs saved in the research phase are re-distributed into modelling to further improve the quality of the final product.
If you think in terms of short-time development costs, this style taken by Gran Turismo may sound inefficient. But the passion and professionalism of each members of the modelling team further strengthen the trust with auto manufacturers, and that is what ultimately leads to increased collaborations with them. Gran Turismo has evolved into a project involving the auto industry, going beyond the boundaries of a simple video game.
Take for example the Corvette C7: in the previous Gran Turismo 5 title, a "Test Prototype" was distributed on November 2011, and the "Final Prototype" was released at the same time of the official unveil of the real car at a North American Auto Show in January 2013. Has there ever been a Corvette that has been test driven this much around the world before its release? And of course, its final production form will be included in Gran Turismo 6.
Well there is more text, feel free to read it all. There are mentions of course of the +1200 cars tough.

The only mention I found however was in GT6's feature list when talking about the dealerships and this is all they say about it.

All available cars are displayed under their respective manufacturers. There are no longer distinctions made between Premium and Standard cars as in the previous version of GT, but Standard equivalent cars will only have simplified cockpit views.

Now that could be interpreted as in there are no external differences between standards and premiums anymore we just haven't made the interiors.

I know its not on the game box but PD did say they were going to keep "standard" cars in GT6 on this website. I know that everybody doesn't reads these forums but I'm sure it is on any review that anybody has done on the game.

In the dealerships it doesn't specifically state that, "this car is standard", but it does state whether a car has a, "simplified interior."

VGT cars have simplified interiors (all bar VW's one) and they are not considered Standard cars.

I get what you're trying to say but like what Boxout said marketing would never let that happen.

Well that is why I am asking the question I know there is marketing and there is also false advertising. The line is pretty tricky and I just wanted to know what your opinion was that is all. To me it seems like they are in that grey area already.

Put it this way,
you want to sell your house, so you pay the Real Estate agent to come around with a professional photographer and take nice photo's of the good bits of your house.

Would you want the inside of your Linen Cupboard or the spot behind your toilet door all over your Ad....?

EDIT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_advertising

False advertising or deceptive advertising is the use of false or misleading statements in advertising, and misrepresentation of the product at hand, which may negatively affect many stakeholders specifically consumers. As advertising has the potential to persuade people into commercial transactions that they might otherwise avoid, many governments around the world use regulations to control false, deceptive or misleading advertising. "Truth" refers to essentially the same concept, that customers have the right to know what they are buying, and that all necessary information should be on the label.

False advertising, in the most blatant of contexts, is illegal in most countries. However, advertisers still find ways to deceive consumers in ways that are legal, or technically illegal but unenforceable.

Sorry if anyone got angry about it, it wasn't trying to stir some 🤬 just wanted to know what guys thought about it.

I know they have to sell and all but I don't think they should up people's expectations so much. If I would see a photo of the standard or see them in the video trailers at least I would be happy because it would show honesty and it would show that they believe in their product.

You don't look for game info by browsing the cover, so I can't feel sorry for anyone "mislead" by that.

Also, majority or minority doesn't really matter. Premiums are in the game and there are enough of them to fill a game roster. I personally still don't think there's much to like about premiums taking forever to model though.

The only bit of the car is ever see is the bonnet, anything else in the game is just a moving road-block, it could be a black box with brake lights as far as i'm concerned

I have mostly the same problem.
I just tried removing my eyes from the track and it all started going wrong for me.
Do you think it's possible to fix?

It's not premium, not even semi-premium.

That should change however...

every software company puts the best possible picture on the cover

even if its from a cutscene or an artists rendition or it may even be whimsical or overly artistic

eg. GT5 had the AMG SLS as its 'signature car', this time its the C7 Corvette

I think Forza 5 is the Mac P1 and for F4 was the 458

you guys should come up with some really inventive covers and we'll print them out on our work color printers and make some comic covers for GT6

like the Daihatsu Ciore pre Spec 2.0 GT5 hitting some Nurburgring blocks on the Nordwand
