I'm going back to IE7, the adress bar doesn't work and i can't even use google, what am i SUPPOSED to do? :boggled: This must be some cruel April fools joke. I spend 10 minutes downloading the 16MB. :grumpy:

I had the Beta version running a while ago. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=111475

Again, there were too many problems with it, so I had no choice but to get rid of it. I liked it when it worked, though. I liked it a lot more than IE7.

Now that the full, non-beta version is here, I don't know if I should bother downloading it. One of the big problems I had was it wouldn't download certain websites, and other certain websites would take way too long to load up. Plus, the 'right click' features didn't all work, plus editing them didn't work either. I figured out why it was deleting all my cookies, though. Turns out it was a history clearing program I had. Once I got rid of it, all went back to normal

I don't want to take my chances again, so I wont download it.

I had the Beta 2 installed at home for a while when it was first released. Didn't have any problems with it, but I still prefer Firefox so I stopped using it. On monday I installed the final version here at work. Again, no problems at all. It's way better than IE7, though it's no Firefox.

But I'm having problems with Firefox on my work computer so I'm sticking with IE8 here. If you use IE7, or even IE6 I definitely recomend the upgrade.

I bothered. It works better than the beta version. However, when I use the "Page" feature to increase "Zoom" size to anything higher than "100%" my desktop picture increases in size also. This happened in the beta version, too. There has to be a fix for this.

By pressing "Ctrl +" and "Ctrl -"? That's weird, I just tried zooming in and out and there were no problems at all.

Yeah, it's weird. The desktop picture stays zoomed no matter how I change the zoom setting and no matter what method I use to set it, either. Once I use zoom, the desktop picture increases and never goes back to normal, until I restart my computer. Then, it repeats the problem.

Are you sure? IE7 worked fine. Not that it really matters since i use firefox...
Yeah. It works just fine for millions of people, including myself. There might be some incompatibility issues between IE 8 and your machine, though it's probably something software related. I have no clue what it might be, but I bet that if you format your hard drive and reinstall Windows and try IE 8 again it will work. Of course you won't do that just so you can use IE 8, I know I wouldn't. But you get my point.

Edit: For instance, my work computer, which I'm using right now, can't run Firefox anymore. It used to work great, but a few months ago it started to lag my computer like hell. As soon as I start the browser the CPU usage goes to 99% and it stays like that. I know the problem is not Firefox, but something screwed up on this machine, and I can't do anything maintainance related on it to find out what it is, just the IT crew can. That's why I'm using IE at work.

And since we're talking about browsers, here's an interesting news I was reading yesterday:

Firefox 3 market share crawls past IE 7 in Europe

It's not working fine for me. It's deleting all my cookies. I have CCleaner that worked with IE6 and IE7, but had issues with .dat file removal with IE7, but was later fixed with an update. However, IE8 seems to have the same cookie-deleting issue that IE7 had.

The cookies are getting deleted only after restarting my PC, though. I figured the problem could be that CCleaner was downloaded on my PC before IE8, therefor I have issues with it. I removed and re-downloaded CCleaner after installing IE8 and the issue still persists.

I'm going to try turning off .dat file removal once again to see if this solves the same problem I had before, with IE7.

I got IE8 on the second day it was out and it's being going strong since. Must have been about 2 weeks now, without an issue.

The upgrade was seemless, and it's working fine.

I expect IE8 to come down in a Vista update within a couple of weeks.

Thile, what OS are you running?

Windows XP SP3.

Nevermind though, i uninstalled IE8. This is really weird now, it seems it went back to IE6 but i can use tabs still. It also said welcome to IE8. :odd:
