Hello GTP, I just picked up a copy of Skate 2 this lunchtime to celebrate the Getting-Back-Into-Skating-When-You're-30 year of 2009 (just bought a new set up after 12 years off a board!!).

Got a couple of Q's for fellow Skate 2 people...

- All I really want to do is skate around San Van in Freemode but I want to ask you guys if you need to complete Career stuff in order to unlock the different places in the city.

- If there is one, how's freemode online? Can you just skate with mates around the city not doing challenges and stuff?

- How's the lag when playing with people from other countries? Obviously I live in Hong Kong and my skating buddies live the other side of the world in the UK

I know I could ask these questions on other game-related forums but the comments you get there are so childish.

Cheers and see you on the streets of San Van!

Sorry, can't answer your questions, except for that in the first skate, the whole city was open for free roam from the get-go.

I didn't even know that this game was out, but I'll definitely be buying it as soon as possible once i save up a little bit of cash. The original is one of my favorite games on the 360.

So how is it?

I've heard some very good and very disappointing things from people.

I played the demo last night and I was pretty impressed with it for the most part, although you can only skate in a very small area. Moving things around seemed cool, though not as great as I expected, and the controls on foot were a nice addition, but felt a bit clumsy and just thrown in.

Besides that, it seems like the original but in a highly modified version of the same city.

I Have played the ps3 and 360 versions of skate 2. I can honestly say, that skate 2 is the first game that I have noticed a major difference between the 2 consoles. The ps3 version is garbage. The graphics are not near the 360's, and the controls seem sluggish and unresponsive on the ps3. By far the game with the largest difference in quality between the 2.
