Why would a simple change in camera require a change in texture?
In past GT games and maybe even in this one judging by the footage the mirrors don't even reflect the dust and smoke in the air, possibly to save memory.
Why would a simple change in camera require a change in texture?
That's what I meant as well. No, I mean the "rear view button" not the mirrors.

The TGTT just looks so cartoony in the pic anyway
GTPlanet's alba doing his thing.
Actually that was me doing the driving and Alba recording it all.

We didn't have to time to try that (2:00min time limit and other people eager to drive too) as the focus was on sound and skidmarks in this combo.OK, Denur, this is a quick one:
What the hell is going on on Top Gear track on the intersection during the race?
Have you tried to wait for lapping cars tocome to the cross?
Thanx in adv!

The map does not change with view, it "appears" to change with a change in the background colour behind the map. When it has a dark background, like the A-pillar in a car, you just see the map as a white line. When it has a bright blue background like the sky, you see the subtle shading around it to make it stand out.Notice how the map changes due to the view. (Cockpit, Bumper, Rearview....)
Guilty as charged. The map does not change with view, it "appears" to change with a change in the background colour behind the map. As for the driving in that video, I like how people make a mistake and then they start messing about like they meant to do it in order to show the skidmarks. OK, the first time I can accept, but the second spin-out was poor driving!
pls can anyone explan what is skidmarks ?
I hope that is not a feature from arcade games like nfs or forza or grid ....

I had put the BMW on a much harder compound so it would be easier to lay some skidmarks. And as a result it was also much harder to control. That second spinout was indeed not intended.![]()
I said/implied the second spin-out was not an intended demonstration of laying down skidmarks, as was acknowledged above. That is all. No need to go stating what you think I have or haven't missed. You missed the point here: these videos are not here to show off individual driving skills with 130 db(a) background noise and no audible clues whatsoever.
Thats exactly what will happen which is perfectly fine with me. I am just so happy to see the GT series finally has this feature. Makes a sim game much more realistic IMO. 👍Something tells me you can only create X amount of marks in length. Once you reach the length they will be erased just like almost all games now. Unless they will fade away within few minutes.

Oooh, I forgot. I did actually do a race on the TGTT with the M5. I did quite badly and, on my second lap, got smashed into oblivion by a GT-R as I approached Chicago while he went through the Follow-Through.
Have to wonder how races are going to work in the full game on that track...
I think that happens with all games that have skid marks. I dont know of a single game that will allow you to have unlimited skid marks lap after lap after lap. That would be great but I dont know of any games that do that. Something is better than nothing IMO.But its pretty bad if you're making some tracks and watching as earlier ones disappear from the track in front of you.
Exactly, with finite resources comes limitations on what you can do. It is not possible (yet) to do donuts all around the track and have them all persist for the duration of the entire race. I'm not sure if streaming to and from the hard drive might help, but still, what they are already doing in GT5 (with let's face it, old hardware) is bloody marvelous.I think that happens with all games that have skid marks. There are a few offroad games with track deformation but those games are usually limited to a certain amount of laps. Sega Rally Revo is one of those. Another one is MX Unleashed?
