I was wondering what the cutt-offs are between those levels.
I assume you can only improve with on-line events, but do you have to set a quali time wihin a certain percentage of the current no.1 in your region (for example).?

Nope. Just drive in online races. The higher up you finish, the more points you get. The lower you finish, the more you lose.

It's really that simple.

Okay,so there's no influence from the amount of participants and their rating once you entered a lobby?
Or am I thinking to complcated?
It appears you get in lobbys with high rated players just after the release with new daily events.
I guess this is good for them, but not for me :lol:

There is a whole thread about it. It depends on who you race against and whether you finish in front of people with a higher rating than you. The theory is that the number on your car door correlates to what position the game thinks you belong in. If you finish higher than that you should gain points.

I can't find that thread anymore :/

Yet if you have one A level driver in the room and the rest B to D, I guess easy win for the A level, but no points I would think. If you're D level in a room with all A to B, you can't lose any points.

Some people game the system though by lowering their DR for easier wins. They will effect your rating as well unfortunately. If you keep driving normally you should end up with good competition, however the pool of SR.S drivers is quite small. Outside prime time I always get matched with S to D while I am B level. I guess it's safer when everyone is spread out like that... In the 10 lap races most people don't make it to the finish before the time runs out :/

That's for FIA races.

For your DR, it's just a case of finishing high to gain points and low to lose them.

There are other factors at play, I'm sure, but it's actually a pretty stable correlation between how far away from the middle of the field you finish and how many points you gain/lose. I've seen it vary by about 20%, again sitting pretty close to the door number/expected finish hypothesis (max was 20% better, finishing 1st with a high door number; min was 20% worse, finishing 12th from 12 with a #1 door number), and I've seen it across races from B/S, C/S, C/D, C/C, C/E, D/S, D/C, D/D, D/E, E/B, E/C and E/D.

With all the numbers plumbed in, I think it's possible to hit S from the start in 45 races. I think it would take a few less if you do Race C a lot, with the larger grid sizes.
