It is nice. I'm not too fond of the spoiler or the wheels, but other than that, it looks good.

Try checking the SEMA website?

The plate says 'By Design Automotive Group' :)

Anyway, is that a JDM Skyline, or (my preference) a full USDM to JDM mechanical conversion?

first of all that is the next skyline made by nissan ,and it is the next skyline not concept skyline you will see those in america in 2006 or 2007 cant remember wich
one,and victor vance what do you meen usdm and jdm? nissan never shiped the skyline to america, all skylines are jdm. cause as far as i know they were only sold in japan. and the only way to get a skyline in america is to ether import it your self or go to motoRex in california and have them import it for you

You, sir, are confused. The Skyline GTR was never shipped here. The Infiniti G35 is known as a Skyline, not to be confused with a GTR. That is an Infiniti G35 (or Skyline, not "Skyline GTR") with a body kit.

I think I've explained it.

youre right i am confused, ive been lost to the world for the last year and im trying to catch back up. wouldnt it be easier to just call every car by their factory apointed name

You sir are an idiot trying to be smart.

Are you suggesting the V35 Skyline is a sedan only? I hope not. It comes in GH-V35 2.5L sedan, GH-HV35 3.0L sedan, UA-PV35 3.5L sedan and UA-CPV35 3.5L coupe (without going into detail ;)).

Uhm, no. There's the Coupe, the Sedan, and the awd Sedan. The only engine choice is the VQ series 3.5 engine. I just checked Infiniti's site to verify that.

That is the factory-appointed name. :D

It's the same car, isn't it? Why would they offer 2 weaker engine choices?
Because the Japanese market has ALWAYS had a huge choice of engines/drivelines to choose from with their own manufacturers... just like you US peeps would have with what, Ford etc. Believe it or not, the Skyline isn't just a sports orientated car either. I remember back in the mid-1980's in Australia they had the 4-door R31 Skyline with a 3.0L engine that wasn't offered in Japan (stroked RB20E to 2998cc) yet the marketing for that car had nothing to do with the Group A touring cars at the time. My point being, offering lesser engines to broaden market share and saturation has been a part of Nissan marketing of the Skyline since it's inception. The Skyline isn't a niche model as Infiniti would have you believe.

The Skyline has lost it's mean appearance. R32's, 33's and 34's all shared a menacing presence on the road. Now the new Skyline sort of looks like a cross breed between a 350Z and the new Maxima. I guess I'll always prefer the RB turbo models.
