Is it possible? Ive seen a few on ebay, but I dont even know if you can get insurace on one, can you?

r32-r34 imported thru the now defunct motorex are street legal, as they were fully legalized (and over priced). others are probably show vehicles or race use only. id imagine you need a specialized insurance company that deals with such special cases (one off's, show cars, race vehicles, etc) i doubt one would get an enzo and 21st century insurance or much less a zagato db7 or r34

I did a lot of looking around the net about Skyline a while back. There were a few importers that dealt with Skylines. Motorex was the largest. The average price was in the $30-$40,000 range for stock R-32's and 33's, the R34's usually pushed into the $50's. And for insurance, you have to insure it like a collector car, antique and the like. Premiums are a premium. Another thing most of the one's I saw available for sale were right hand drive. A couple of sites said they could do a left hand conversions in the neighborhood of $10,000.
My take on the Skyline: Nice to have something that isn't in the mainstream, Insurance would be ridiculous, I could buy a couple year old Porshe for that kinda cash. Also getting financing would be a bugger. There are some companies that finance rare automobiles, Motorex said it had a couple of companies for series buyers. I would imagine you would have to have one hell of a credit rating, and a salary to boot.

Ya I heard about Motorex going down a while ago, but never knew why. Can someone explain to me why they died?

I happen to know the guy who bought the import rights and crash data from MotoRex.

Suffice it to say that I may be driving an $16,000 street legal '92 GT-R in the near future.

If you absolutely can't wait, there's always the G35... although it pales in comparison to the 32-34's.

move to australia if you want one, there all over the place, and i mean it, im sick of it, every corner there is a 32 or 33 and now there are heaps of 34's running around.

Don't lie. No one bought those from Motorex, and Motorex is still in business. RBMotoring is now another player in this industry of legalizing skylines.

$50,000 doesnt seem that bad for a Skyline. A M3 cost that much I think. My dad got his 325i for like $40,000-$50,000 in not sure.

A Skyline is rare and I think they are easier to tune...

Not to mention that in STOCK the M3 and the Skyline have nearly the same "hp/kg" value. (when GT4 is right saying the R34 have 341hp)

They should be close competitors... 👍
