California has a vice grip on the balls of tuner cars. 👎

Yea.. I thought Canada was tight cause people keep getting tickets for the loud pipes and air intakes and improper tail lights ... I can go on and on listing things, but it'll be a long list...

With the "performance" version G35, I'm looking at the Infiniti catalog featuring the G35 Coupe. This performance G35 will have to...

1. Ditch that chrome grill and horizontally shorten it.
2. Make the tall lights horizontal. In other words, if lights are like: ||, make them more like =.
3. The taillights must be more Skyline-like.
4. You can't pay homage to the Skyline GT-Rs without a traditional rear wing. Have one for looks. I was going to say "like the Cobra R," but I don't want a spoiler war against me, or a pony car bashfest against me.

The pure sports model would have to be based on the G35 Coupe, since I cannot recall a performance Skyline that had four doors. Unless, if you want to challenge the Mazda RX-8 in the respect of a four-door sportscar, then go for it, Nissan/Infiniti!

maybe to you, but to me R34>Enzo, mclaren F1 etc. I have a passion for the GTR no other car can give me. Call me crazy but I'd take a GTR over any car on this planet. 👍

You're crazy. It just makes no logical sense whatsoever. Money can only buy so much sexiness...and thats all there really is leftover once you've calculated in performance and such. New for new, dollar for dollar, turn for turn, the Z06 owns the R34 GTR sideways. But then again, for the price of a new R34 GTR (from motorex) you could have a use Z06 and a used R32 GTR...best of both worlds perhaps? There is of course the prestige and...mysticism of the skyline here in the states...but that can only account for so much money. Not exactly 40k IMO.

It's human nature to want what you can't have. If Skylines were 10 a penny, you wouldn't want one.

Ah, but that would be a very good buy, and would completely change the context of my post. While it may hurt resale value, the number of cars on the road doesnt hamper the performance of it...

It doesn't have to make sense, Its my money, I can spend it as I please. In 2007 when the new GTR is released I'll buy one, and probably an R34 just for the purpose of having one. I like the looks, the performance, the technology it has, it's rich history etc. It has everything I want in a car. It's not about sexyness, cost, etc. Its the love of the car and everything it is. Nothing else matters.

Well, you live in "TO" so I dunno but yeah DOT is in all 50 states.

Tee-dot-Oh! Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In Canada it is refered to as TC, Transport Canada.

Come to Quebec. I've seen guys get tickets for the stupidest things. You cannot do anything to your car at ALL in Quebec. Not to mention we've got worse roads that the Soviet Union did.

Ottawa is really dull, gotta say myself. There are a couple places around Montreal that have big street/drag scenes. On the island, there are a couple, that's where we get bothered (they took the light meter out on a guy's headlights once). They always nab people for too loud stereos (hardly) and too loud exhausts (the regs are somewhere in the high 80s to low 90s).

Go to Hawkesbury, ON/Grenville, QC. BIG street scene there. If "street" is approprtiate terminology for alot of stickers and big wheels.

Where can I get an R30 or R31?

Thats a tough one
You dont see much of those for sell
But I think someone was selling a R31 for 600 on Skyline Downunder
I think It was lacking a motor though
But if you got the cash you could put in RB20DET

Or you can check out R31skylineclub.com

didn't they discontinue the R34 since the G35 coupe/skyline tooks its place?
anyways i think G35 looks way better than a 350Z
interior is much nicer, almost identical in peformance and (to me this is a big deal) its antenna-less unlike the Z
antenna's are a thing of the past and cars should not come with them
