I was at Riverwood and noticed the sky looked like it had Northern lights. Anyone else see anything like this?

I ran across a Dragon Priest.

Oh good lord. I came across a lovely fellow by the name of Otar the mad. Apparently he is a dragon priest. I quickly realized that I was not sufficiently equipped to take him on in a face to face battle so I had to high tail it out by using the whirlwind shout.

Yeah I've seen that at Riverwood too. Looks amazing.

Yeah, the Dragon Priest I came across was very difficult, because he was a spell caster that kept his distance. Running at him with a shield raised was not an option, because he was cooking me. I know there are 9 in the game, and I have killed 2. Good fun.

Also those lights can bee seen from different places. Specially neat to look at from high atop the mountains.

I had one of the most epic battles last night. As I was wandering around the environment I noticed a silhouette of a dragon WAY in the distance. So I walked toward the silhouette. As I was approaching the dragon I noticed 2 Giants with a Mammoth. I decided to avoid those and kill the dragon instead. But as I approached the dragon I noticed it was not a normal dragon. It had a bunch of spikes and looked awesome! Then it started speaking english! Then if that wasnt enough it summoned a dead dragon skeleton from the ground that turned into another dragon!! Holy crap it was awesome!! So at this point I start battling this summoned dragon. Here is where it gets interresting. The dragon decides to attack the 2 Giants and the Mammoth. So then at this point I am battling all 4 enemies!!! After a few minutes the Giants kill the dragon and then the 2 Giants and Mammoth decide to attack me. I killed the Mammoth fairly quick while running from the Giants. Then after about 15 minutes I kill the first Giant. Finally after another 5 minutes I finish off the last giant.

BUT right before I finish the last giant I equip my soul sucking magic, shoot the Giant with it, then kill him and suck in his soul. Then after all that I check my Azura's Star and it has the Giants soul in it!!!!!
Some of the most amazing stuff happened in that battle. Just epic!!!

Also for those that dont know, you can rename enchanted items.
I spent a couple hours disenchanting and enchanting items to upgrade my character again. At one point I looked down in the lower left and for the first time "Rename" popped up. But this option does not pop up until you have all 3 times selected. So right before you "enchant" the item, you can rename it. I named my ring "BOW RING" because I disenchanted some Bow (archery) improving gloves. I also created some "Fire Boots" using a Fire resistance enchantment. I am still trying to find magica boots I can disenchant so I can have Magica boots on my character.

My character with an ice chunk in his chest. The major advantage is that it cast a lot of light for the dark areas of the map.

I had to take a break from Skyrim and Dark Souls yesterday because the muscles in my right forearm are so badly strained it hurts to fully open my hand or extend my arm. I've learned from my past experience with PGR2 that it would be unwise to not pay heed to such a bodily warning!

So I've been gripping my Fanatec and playing FM4 instead :)

Here is a hint to easily carry a lot more weight in an emergency.

1. Find or purchase an item that already has "Increase weight 20 points" or something similar. Even 5 points will be fine. Usually boots have this "increase weight" enchantment added to them.
2. Disenchant this item to learn the knowledge.
3. Enchant this knowledge onto a Ring. I called mine "WEIGHT RING". If you drink an enchantment potion you will get higher results.
4. Enchant this knowledge onto a necklace. I called mine "WEIGHT NECKLACE"
5. If you have a follower make sure you enchant a ring and necklace for your them too.

My results with this setup.

Me
WEIGHT RING +30
WEIGHT NECKLACE +30

My follower
WEIGHT RING +30
WEIGHT NECKLACE +30

My enchantment level is currently level 76. So with just wearing a ring and necklace we are easily capable of carrying over 120 extra weight!!! Plus the ring and necklace only weigh 0.5 each!! You can apply the weight carrying enchantment to gloves, boots, necklaces, and rings.

Then anytime you are overcumbered you can put on the ring and necklace onto your follower and onto yourself. This is one example of what you can do with rings and necklaces. Necklaces and rings are very very easy ways to increase anything you want in the game. Health, magica, weight carry, frost defense, fire defense, armor strength, bow damage, smithing abilities, and much more. Hope this helps.

Its Bethesda and this is why I rented the game at first to see how buggy it was going to be. But luckily this game has been miles ahead of Fallout in terms of bugs and problems. So I dont regret my purchase at all. Its been one of THE best RPG games I have ever played. Easily GOTY 2011.

Well, I still bought Fallout New Vegas after F3 and I'm definitely going to buy Skyrim too :) I just want to play FM4 more before I buy it, because those RPGs can really suck you in and you won't play anything else for a long time.

Yup Skyrim is epic. I love it. I have about 94 hours and I am level 28. Cant get enough of it and have hardly even touched the storyline.

More bugs than a bait store. Did the patch fix the hi res textures when installed problem? I'm too lazy to go look.

Anyone find this glitch yet?:

Found this by complete accident when i was doing a Dark Brotherhood quest.

(And no, that's not my video)

I really need your advice on this one !

To enchant stuff I need to disenchant stuff because it learns you enchantments, did you just start off by destroying the stuff you already have? I have a few weapons that are enchanted but I wasnt sure if I should disenchant them or not!

Next thing - I found an enchanter (in a cave I think) but now I cant remember where it is !

I'm loving this game - playing it exactly like I did oblivion, havent even started any quests i'm just exploring and finding lots of good stuff !

[edit] And how on earth did you get that glowing ice spike in your chest ha !

Yes to aquire the knowledge from an enchanted weapon or armor you need to disenchant that item. The great news is say for example you disenchant something with +magica or +magic regen or +health or +bow damage, you never have to disenchant an item with that enchantment ever again. So I recommend disenchanting any of the items you find early in the game.

There is an enchantment table in the Riverwood bar. Its in the room to the left of the Alchemy table. BUT its in a hidden room downstairs that doesnt get unlocked until later after you meet Delphine and she will introduce a part of the storyline called "Diplomatic Immunity. Once she talks about that mission she will open her closet and it goes down to a room with an enchantment table and alchemy table.

I went to that bar for a long time until later in the game I purchased the house in Riften that has an enchantment table right inside the house.

The ice spike was stuck in my chest because of a glitch that was patched with the 1.2 patch. Happened quite a bit with arrows too.

-------------------------

Over the weekend I hit level 36 with around 133 hours. Enchantment is now around 82. I also finally decided to take on the main campaign and wow what a ride that is. I wont list spoilers but dang just incredible especially toward the end. I still have a LOT of other missions to do and side quests. Plus I have not really picked if I want to join the Storm cloaks or the Imperials but I am going to pick to join the Imperials just because most of my friends joined the Stormcloaks.

I also heard that Skyrim won GOTY 2011 and it sure deserves it.

Thanks man.

The alchemy table I found was in a cave ! I really should have took note which one it was but didnt know how rare (at my point in the game) they would be !

I'm going to check out more of Riverwood as I didn't stick around after the start of the game I went exploring - I am however stuck in Shimmermist cave, trying to defeat the guys in there (cant remember what kind of enemys they are but my little level 8 is struggling with them).

[one more thing]

I dropped enchanted steel armour with + magika as I ran out of carry weight, I know exactly where I dropped it will it still be there even though I have now left that location?

That would be a great starting point for me !

Np always glad to help.

Yes your +magica armor should still be there when you get back if you dropped it in a cave. If you dropped it outside thats iffy. Cave items stay but outside items are known to disappear or be reset.

I just bought this game on Friday and i got to say, my gf is hating it haha. Ive been playing it almost none stop. Im level 16 right now, full destruction mage. I think my Destruction is around 70. Dont really run into any major problems as long as i can keep a distance from my enemies. I love using the Fireball spell. It demolishes everything in a certain radius. Thing that sucks about being a mage is the lack of health i have, luckily the heal spell comes in handy ALOT. Killed around 10 dragons so far.. I find it fairly easy with the Icespike spell. 5-6 dual shots and most of them are done for.

Only bug i ran into so far that really bugged me was when i got off my horse and tried to get back on really fast, my character stayed on the ground but i was still able to control the horse only. had to Reload my file.

PATCH 1.3 HAS BEEN RELEASED.

Yesterday the 1.3 patch came out and fixed the resistant effects for sure. I took on an elder dragon and while blocking I didnt take any damage. After the 1.2 patch I was getting destroyed by fire and frost. Now its finally working again!

However this new 1.3 patch messed other things up. Now some quest arrows do not show up. Yup while it did fix the resistance problems from 1.2 it for sure messed up the quest arrows on most of the missions. Happens quite a bit if you are in the city where the arrow is supposed to be at. This can be VERY VERY frustrating at times especially if you do not have each city memorized. So now we need to wait for patch 1.4 to fix 1.3. I still love this game but sheesh.

I added another perk to heavy armor 4/5 last night and now my Ebony Armor is at 445! I also made it to 92 enchanting. Cant wait to hit enchantment level 100 so I can put dual enchantments on each item. My blocking is also getting up quite high too. I think close to 70.

Also bought the $25,000 house in Solitude and I finally decided to join the Imperial Legion last night. I waited a good 145 hours before making the decision but all my friends joined the Stormcloaks so I joined the Imperials.

ive been having problems with blood dragons. Ill start the fight and then like somewhat around the time the have about half HP left they fly off and disappear for a long ass time. They'll randomly come back but then do it again. It gets me mad!

Im really enjoying this game. I work 9-6 and then i end up playing from like 10pm-1(or 2 am sometimes.) I feel bad for forza though, its really getting neglected haha

This game is so dang hard to put down. I really have not played much of anything since Skyrim came out over a month ago.

I am currently at 162 hours and level 42. Enchantment is 92. Armor is now 517. I finished the main quest and finished the civil war quest by joining the Imperials. Had some epic battles for sure. Joined the Companions last night and started some of those missions. Only problem is I need to get rid of my follower Aranea Lenith to do the next mission for the Companions. I have had her since the beginning of the game and dont want to lose her. But she will just go back to Azura for a little while and as soon as I am finished with the missions, I will go back and get her again. But before I send her off, I will be removing all her armor and weapons, then give them back later.

Found something very interresting last night that allows the Riverwood trader to carry 10,000 gold!!!

Lucan Valerius is the shop owner in Riverwood. A friend of mine said he had this happen to him so I decided to try it out. And it worked!!!

1. Marry Camilla Valerius (his sister)

2. Move her into one of your houses. (this might not be necessary)

3. Get your speech perk high enough to invest 500 gold into her

4. Now go back to Riverwood and Lucan should have 10,000 gold on him every 2 or 3 days!!!

Dayum that guy must be a baller. Ill try this out later. One question though, how does one start the marriage quest?

I completely agree with how addicting this game is. I just started a new file cus i kinda got bored of my mage. I used the khajit and was going an unarmed rought for a good 30 levels, but then got over it as it is kinda underpowered even with the khajit unarmed boost. Im level 42 at 55 hrs on my second build. 100 Smithing, Heavy armor originally at 95 but 118 w/enchanted daedra armor, 89 Enchanting, high 50s two handed, sneak and lockpicking in the 60s, and alot of random things that i dont really care for or use. 567 armor without a shield and something like 220 damage on my main daedra warhammer.

To get married you have to find Maramal in The Bee and The Barb bar in Riften or the Temple of Mara in Riften Then talk to him to get the Amulet of Mara for 200 coin. Then you just wear the necklace and approace the woman or man you want to marry. After that you will have to go back to The temple to get married. Then you can send your wife to any of the houses you own. And if you didnt already know, your wife becomes a general store. You can buy and sell from her. She resets every 2-3 days too.

Cool thanks man. I always wondered how to get it happen as i was trying to get the achievement for it.
