Slow connection or?

Hello to all!
My problem is that whenever I play online, all the other cars are just going wild. I mean going left-right, on the track, off the track, random colisions etc. So, my question is, is it because of slow connection or something else? I have 5mbits speed, and NAT2 connection, bandwith normal. Country is Croatia. Thanks for any help
 
Being as slow as your Internet is if you try to join any other country you are more then likely going to have that problem.. I'm in USA running 40mb Internet and I still occasionally get that problem if I want to run my friends in Australia
 
Your speed is fine. I used to run fine with a 3mbps connection. It has to be something else. Have you tried a wired connection to your router? Do you have other devices on your network using bandwidth?
 
What you're experiencing is called lag, in most cases just wiring your PS3 to your router will cure this. Try following these simple steps here.

Will try to make some use from your guide tonight. Untill now I only had wired connection, will try cleaning the cache, turning off the music, and adjust ports. Thanks for your input.

No need to set up port forwarding yet, I'm 99% sure that just setting up a wired connection will solve your issue.
 
What I meant, I don't use wireless, so it's 100% sure connection goes through Ethernet cable
 
How close are you to your modem/router? How old is your modem/router? How much demand is there, on the connection? Have you tried joining a very high quality server, in GT5?

Even though my connection allows me to run two TV-boxes (IPTV) on HD channels, 2 computers streaming 1080p videos, my smartphone, a regular phone (yes... over the internet) and my PS3 simultaneously, and still have decent speeds (+15 mbits), I still experience lag in the very low quality servers.
 
Just had 3 hours of great racing. It looks like music and cache were the problems. Or something else, what was cured by itself. Anyway, after 5 months of playing GT5, thoose were my first online races without lags. Thanks everyone for help. If someone needs online company, just add me: "m_mou" :D

When your joining online rooms always look how many stars it has. Below 3 Stars don't join because it gets pretty laggy. Over 4 Stars join you won't lag much and the ping/bars does not matter as much.
