Slow download- update 2.0

Ok, so I'm wanting to get the new 2.0 update and try out the in car views and be ready for DLC- trouble is, when starting the download my ps3 shows I have north of 1000 minutes to wait for the download! I've tried it wireless and hooked up to my router with ethernet and no joy- I'm able to download fairly quickly over my broadband via my laptop for instance, and our broadband isn't that bad here. Is there anyway I can round this with the settings on my ps3 perhaps?
 
:ouch: looks like i'll have to keep trying to see if i can get a decent download speed at somepoint. it always seems as though the ps3 connection is slower than my pc though. It would be great if you could download the updates for games from the sony website and update via memory stick, especially with 2gig updates. probably something for ps4 when it comes, although i should have fibre optic broadband by xmas :)

What is media server? Is it for online gaming, netflix etc.?

i have no idea what it is, it doent affect online gaming but i dont have netflix so i dont know what it does to that if anything. It just help my dowload speeds but thats about it :)

I tried to download mine during peak time and it was telling me it would take 200+ minutes. Even though doing a speed test was showing my speed at around 100 mbps. Stopped it and then started again ate at night. Took 5 minutes.
 
In the beginning mine said that it would take over 2.5k minutes to download the patch. So i went to the gym and when i got home it was all done ;) Pure magic ;)
