The restrictions are just messed up with that race. You can pretty much take any car you like.

It's because there's no limitations for that race. You can enter any car, as far as I know.

Some people can't restrict themselves and always choose the easy way. I'm pretty happy with the system. Everyone can win the races his way, but if you're serious, you'll just restrict yourself.

I'm the same, but to be fair we shouldn't have to. PD should've added restrictions properly. No point calling it a "compact race" when it's really just a race for anything you care to bring along.

Maybe they figure at that point in GT life all you'd have are little hatchbacks? I hoarded all the credits I could early on to get the McLaren F1 and used that to win the British Lightweights. Probably not what they had in mind...

I took one of the prize racing civics to that event, it's compact enough.
The same also applies to Super GT, I can take my 1040 HP racing car to it

Quite honestly, I think proper racing should be the first fix.

Qualification, good AI, and decent amount of laps.

Once that's in place, it would make sense to have restriction guidelines. I tried to be fair in the Super GT race by entering a Surpa straight from the used car dealer (no GT Auto). The AI vanished from sight before I was halfway through the race.

the restriction on this is only european cars done it with ferarri's lamborghini's audi rs6 steath cars chromeline cars so doesn't matter aslong as it's european make car

Yeah, it definitely doesn't go by parent company. The way the game sorts that out is flawed already, but going by parent company would mean a LOT of changes. Some of them (I can think of at the moment) are:

Mazda and Volvo would become American as they're owned by Ford, aren't they? (On top of that, some of the Jaguars and the Range Rover should also be American as they were owned by Ford when made.)

Vauxhall, Open, and Holden would become American as well, as they're all General Motors brands. (Plus, didn't GM also have an ownership stake in such brands as Lotus, Isuzu, and Suzuki at one time or another?)

You'd have to split the Dodge and Chrysler cars between American, German and Italian - depending on the year.

Seat would change from Spanish to German because they're owned by VW.

Then again, if we're disregarding parent compant, it actually makes sense to consider Scion an American car - ???

I just want to know:
How Lexus can be American, Japanese, and Korean?
How can some Cobras be American and some from the UK?

The only way I can resolve this lunacy is to not give a 🤬, and just enjoy the cars!

Audi is owned by VW btw. So VW owns Lamborghini.
Audi and Lamborghini are just in same sub-division.

I did not know that both A/C and Shelby built very similar cars at the same time using what's probably the exact same chassis/body (though it's no surprise that the Shelby have more HP).
Seems odd, but unfortunately it's easily possible.

There have been multiple-page threads on GTP purely discussing whether or not the Veyron is a French car. For you to act like your word on the matter is final based on reasoning that is logically inconsistent with other brands in the game is laughable.
